A massive chance actually as Xherdan Shaqiri is put through on goal. Jonas Lossl races off his line and looks to be in no man's land but produces a superb one-hand save to deny Shaqiri's chip.

What a save.

One finger is all I need to count the total number of attacking moves that has seen three or more passes put together by either side.

Poor, poor game.

Moritz Bauer loves to rampage forward. He sneaks up the pitch once again before turning on the afterburners to try and meet Joe Allen's pass but his first touch knocks the ball out of play.

Jonathan Hogg, who was sent off by today's referee Michael Oliver against Watford earlier this season, is the first player to go into the book today after bringing down Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting midway inside the Huddersfield half.

Tom Ince's dart into the box wins Huddersfield their first corner of the game. The first is knocked behind by Erik Pieters before Mathias Jorgensen meets the second but his flick-on goes whistling across goal and out for a Stoke goal-kick.

A mistake by Scott Malone sends the lively Moritz Bauer away down the right. Malone recovers well, doing just enough to slow down Bauer before reinforcements arrive in the shape of Jonathan Hogg.

Finally a shot at goal for Huddersfield! Steve Mounie, who has not been in this game until now, hits a snapshot just wide at the near post.

Probably the best chance of the game so far, but that's not saying much.

Huddersfield are really struggling to put together any sort of passing move. Quite a nervous display from the visitors so far in fact.

No shots on or off target for Huddersfield and two shots off target for Stoke. Not looking like a contender to be high up the Match of the Day running order so far.

Nice move from Stoke as Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting gets away down the left and crosses low into the box, Mame Biram Diouf's shot is blocked but the loose ball falls to Charlie Adam outside the box and he cracks an effort just wide.

Paul Lambert will be pleased with the intensity of his side.

Now we do as Alex Pritchard plays a smart ball to Steve Mounie on the edge of the area. Mounie finds Florent Hadergjonaj but his cross in the end is caught by Jack Butland.

A quarter of an hour gone and I've not seen anything of Alex Pritchard yet. Huddersfield haven't really put together any attacking move of note, though.

Chance for Stoke to do something as Rajiv van la Parra brings down Moritz Bauer on the right side of the Huddersfield area. Joe Allen sends the ball into the box but Jonas Lossl comes out to claim.

A slick backheel by Charlie Adam is appreciated by the Stoke fans. Very cautious approach to the game from both sides. Looks like this one is more of a must-not-lose fixture than must-win.

Scott Malone puts the ball behind to hand Stoke the first corner of the game, which Ryan Shawcross heads well over from. Always leaning back as he jumped to meet the ball.

Good start by the hosts, though.

Huddersfield have a very, very high line, which Xherdan Shaqiri is playing right on the edge of. He scampers away after a ball is played over the top but is flagged offside. Very close call.

Nervous moment at the back for Huddersfield as Matthias Jorgensen's pass is cut out but the defender manages to slide in and clear before Mame Biram Diouf can pounce.

Ryan Shawcross' return should make Stoke stronger at the back and he is called into action early doors, heading away Scott Malone's low cross.
