Robbie Willmott has already put six crosses in down the right, that's three times as many as anyone else on the pitch so far. He's also the most accurate passer in the County team on 88% completion so far.

Vurnon Anita is Leeds' key man with 38 touches - that's comfortably more than anyone else on the pitch.

Just as I've bigged Willmott's right peg up, he smashes a shot way over with his left.

That was really good play from Willmott on the right-hand side.

He worked the cross in excellently in to Nouble then Pardaig Amond struck it beautifully but couldn't keep it on target.

Excellent technique.

Robbie Willmott is impressing me a great deal down the Newport right. He has Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on toast and again gets a cracking ball in. It's flicked on at the near post and Padraig Amond volleys over at the back stick.

It's fair to say the midfield battle and winning second balls is proving critical at this stage.

In case you missed it, Gateano Berardi's strike for Leeds has put the visitors ahead inside ten minutes at Rodney Parade.

Watch it really carefully, you'll see the ball deflects off the leg of his team-mate Pierre-Michel Lasogga and wrong foots Joe Day in goal.

Padraig Amond is in some pain after being on the end of a robust aerial challenge.

Hadi Sacko brings Leeds out of a brief midfield scrap but gets held up by a Dan Butler sliding challenge. A few tackles are fizzing in - County legend David Pipe goes in firm on Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

It's tight, not a lot in it and still hope of the lower-league side battling their way back in.

County still show spirit, this time Joss Labadie sees a shot blocked for a corner.

Just found this image of the goal celebrations. It looks painful.

Leeds are in a 4-4-2 shape early on, County are getting some joy in wide areas against it as they are playing with Frank Nouble and Robbie Willmott flanking central striker Padraig Amond.

Willmott delivers a nice ball in from the right, headed clear. The ball comes back in from the left and Joss Labadie breaks into the box from midfield to head into the arms of Andy Lonergan. Chance.

Robbie Willmott with a great delivery from the corner. It bounced around the box but Leeds got that little bit of luck and blocked it on the line.

I don't think the Leeds defender (Klich) knew anything about it, it just hit his body.

That could knock the stuffing out of Newport County. If not, Kalvin Phillips will as he crashes into a tackle and gives away a free-kick.

The ball is with Frank Nouble out left again. The guy is built like a wardrobe and manages to win a corner.

In the ball comes, in-swinger, causes big danger in the six-yard box... shot comes in... blocked on the line. It was Padraig Amond who spun in the six-yard box to see his effort blocked.

He's a specialist free kick taker, Berardi.

It's a wonderful strike from Berardi. He hit it low and hard but he was a long way out and Joe Day in goal for Newport will look back at it and think he could have done a little bit better.

Newport have started well.

It was a really good run there for the Newport striker Frank Nouble, who skipped past (former Newcastle player) Vurnon Anita.

Meanwhile, there's drama in the press box, John's notes have blown away. A Newport fan has handed them back to him.

The fan said he can do a better job than me. I almost passed him the microphone!

That's what the FA Cup used to be about. Back in the day bad pitches were bad pitches. Thesedays there are carpets even in the National League. Newport's surface in fairness does look like my back garden - grim.

Ben White plays that pass which gets results in the lower league. You know the one - between central defender and full-back - it turns the defence and gets players running back towards their own goal.

Again Leeds clear under pressure. The Championship side have not really settled down yet.
