  1. goal

GOAL - Newport 1-1 Leedspublished at 76 mins

    Conor Shaughnessy (OG)

    It's a shin. A left shin.

You know the type, that desperate attempted hack under pressure which just goes the wrong way and ends up in the wrong place.

Frank Nouble did well down the right and fired in a low cross,a County player tried to flick it on and as the ball came at him quickly Conor Shaughnessy could only turn low into the net.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

Shawn McCoulsky packs a trick or two - dancing feet as he attacks his man to open up space to shoot with the right peg - over.

Jay-Roy Grot off for Leeds, Samuel Saiz on.

  3. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

Pierre-Michel Lasogga swings a left-footed effort over the bar. He went close a few minutes ago from similar distance, forcing a low save.

  4. Postpublished at 70 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

Shawn McCoulsky is Newport's top scorer by the way - 10 in all competitions this season.

Things are opening up a bit - Hadi Sacko races forward and wins a corner with a blocked shot.

It would be harsh if Leeds seal this to be honest.

  5. Labidie just blazed it overpublished at 13:29 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2018

    John Hartson
Former Wales striker on 5 Live

Labidie has got to keep that down. There was loads of bodies in the box so it could have gone anywhere.

But he just blazed it over. He has got to do better.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 68 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

Jay-Roy Grot is in the book for Leeds after a late challenge. Newport are getting a first substitution ready.

They wind up a long throw through Mickey Demetriou... headed clear... Joss Labadie sends it back crisply... over the bar.

Shawn McCoulsky comes on for Matthew Dolan.

  7. What a guy...published at 65 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

So, Frank Nouble on the Newport left.

I can recall him breaking through at West Ham. He looked menacing, in the Emile Heskey mould when Emile Heskey was a mould managers wanted.

This was back in 2009. How wrong I was. After 13 matches and a single goal for the Hammers, Nouble went out on loan to SEVEN clubs.

He's now 26. By my maths, he's been at 16 different employers, returning 29 goals.

Maybe not the menace I predicted. Still, he's a handful and doing well today. I mean how many strikers put tackles like this in?

By the way, our man Frank has even played for Tianjin Songjiang in Chinese League One. What a guy.

  8. Newport still believepublished at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2018

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

    Alistair Bruce-Ball

If Nouble had got proper contact on the header initially, that was 1-1.

    Newport County still believe.

  9. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

There's a tangle in the area. Frank Nouble goes down but nothing doing.

Robbie Willmott's cross is there for Nouble to attack but he can't get up high enough and he then tangles with Liam Cooper. It would have been very, very harsh.

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

What makes a "proper" cup tie?

Low sun? Shade? Low stands? Bad pitch.

I get what John Hartson is on about for sure.

Leeds have slowed everything down. That's good game management.

  12. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

Leeds are being limited to efforts from range, Mateusz Klich with the latest which is blocked and leads to a corner. The ball is delivered and Matthew Dolan looks like Paolo Maldini by slickly chesting it to his keeper.

  13. It was an ambitious overhead kickpublished at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2018

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

    John Hartson
Former Wales striker on 5 Live

That was superb again on the right from Willmott.

He beats his man and dinks it into the six-yard box, but it was an ambitious overhead kick from Amond.

  14. CLOSE!published at 55 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

Newport continue to be the creative influence, mainly through Robbie Willmott. His ball in from the right is partially cleared by Conor Shaughnessy and Padraig Amond tries an overhead kick 12 yards out - narrowly over.

  15. Team newspublished at 13:12 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2018

Shrewsbury v West Ham (14:00 GMT)

    Joe HartImage source, Getty Images

Local lad Joe Hart is recalled to West Ham's starting XI and captains the team as one of four changes from the draw with Spurs.

There's no Andy Carroll, Marc Noble, Manuel Lanzini or Pablo Zabaleta in the squad.

Shrewsbury make three changes from the side that beat Oldham in League One.

Ben Godfrey, Alex Rodman and Carlton Morris come in for Arthur Gnahoua, Stefan Payne and Bryn Morris who drop to the bench.

I don't think Andy Lonergan has been tested enough and Leeds will improve.

Newport need to keep up the pressure.

It was wonderful ball in from Scot Bennett, Willmott has got to be getting across and on the end of that cross.

    Good chance there from Newport.

Scot Bennett can do no more than deliver a ball like that.

  18. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

Scot Bennett with one of those right-footed in-swinging crosses which only need a touch. The ball bounces six yards from goal and goes a foot wide. Top delivery.

If I had an emoji to hand I'd use one of those clapping ones the youth like.

  19. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Newport 0-1 Leeds

Dan Butler with a great tackle on Hadi Sacko, only to give the ball away immediately.

It allows Leeds to win a corner which is barely cleared but another attempt to fizz it into the danger zone this time sees it cleared properly.
