West Ham's passing accuracy is at 53%. That's around 10% lower than their hosts who are 30 places below them in the pyramid.

The ball is turning over like a basketball game. Not the NBA though, more the type of standard on offer in the the South Pole regional basketball league.

The home side try to build an attack but play is squeezed to the touchline and West Ham get a throw.

The AFC Wimbledon fans are enjoying their afternoon and some rare touches for the away side are greeted with cheers of 'ole, ole'.

If West Ham are to do anything here you would think it will be through Arthur Masuaku down the left. They have sought him out quite a lot as you can see from the graphic below.

They don't look in danger of summoning anything though, quite the opposite as Declan Rice makes a key defensive header with Shaun Whalley well placed at the back post.

Another chance for Tottenham, this just looks like a matter of time before they go ahead. Kyle Walker-Peters crosses, but it is deflected away for a corner, but nothing happens from that one as some pushing in the box gives the visitors a respite.

This is like a training game. AFC Wimbledon can't get out of their own area.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 West Ham

Mat Sadler is back on with a huge bandage. It's Terry Butcher all over again.

Shrewsbury need to pounce here. Jon Nolan looked shaped to shoot from 15 yards or so a few moments ago but had the ball taken off his toes by one of his own players.

Dean Henderson makes a routine catch from Arthur Masuaku's cross in the Shrewsbury goal.

That sums this game up, really - routine. Routinely bland throughout.

    Tottenham 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Chance for Tottenham. A cross into the box is chested down by Fernando Llorente into the path of Erik Lamela. He catches it on the volley, but it is straight at George Long. The keeper doesn't catch it, choosing instead to parry it, but it stays out and that's the main thing.

    Tottenham 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Tottenham continue their dominance of the ball. Like an older brother that is not letting his younger sibling play at the moment. Still goalless though.

Mat Sadler has been one of Shrewsbury's best players but that gash on his head caused in a clash of heads with Andre Ayew in the first half is becoming a problem.

His face is covered in blood and he is going down the tunnel for stitching. He's not been taken off though....

Great one-touch football from Spurs, involving Victor Wanyama, Erik Lamela and Fernando Llorente. It is great to watch, but it doesn't lead to anything as the final ball to Harry Kane sees the England centre-forward standing in an offside position.

Eleven minutes gone, AFC Wimbledon have had SEVEN percent of the possession.

But that's better than a couple of minutes ago...

    Shrewsbury 0-0 West Ham

West Ham have been sucked into playing like a lower league side here. They get a free-kick near halfway and send the big boys up rather than simply getting the ball moving to construct something.

Josh Cullen sends a cross over but it's so high it comes down with cloud on it and Dean Henderson makes the catch.

Lone front man for AFC Wimbledon Lyle Taylor is going to have to do an awful lot of running today. He gallops after a long punt forward, but Michel Vorm sprints out of his penalty area to head clear before Taylor can reach it.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 West Ham

Here's a look at the first-half action and as you can see on the right, West Ham touched the ball just twice in the Shrewsbury box.

They had no fluency at all and can only get better you would think.

    Tottenham 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon holding on a bit already. They may well have been surprised to see such a strong team and bench from Tottenham. They have already played twice in a week, but Mauricio Pochettino is not taking anything for granted with his selection.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 West Ham

Joe Hart called into early action - he's now lost the cap he got given from the crowd as he's in the shade during this half. He expertly plucks a cross out of the air.

Can this second-half offer us more quality?

Again Kieran Tripper is free on the right wing, his cross into the penalty area is half-cleared by Abdul Yussuf Oshilaja and it falls to Victor Wanyama, who lashes it well wide from outside the box.

    Tottenham 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon are already struggling to get hold of the ball, and having to defend deep and in numbers. A half-chance for Tottenham as Kieran Trippier crosses low into the box from the right, but Erik Lamela cannot get hold of it and it is a waste.

And we are under way at Wembley. Can AFC Wimbledon cause a huge upset? They have a strong-looking Tottenham side (and bench) to deal with.

Shrewsbury will be delighted with that half.

If not for a few good saves from Joe Hart, they would be ahead.

There's just too many West Ham players having an off day.

And David Moyes would be within his rights to rustle some feathers at half time as they have not been good enough

  20. 'He was hungry and wanted it'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2018

    Newport 2-1 Leeds

Newport County manager Michael Flynn, speaking to BBC One Wales: "This is much better beating Championship teams like Leeds. I don’t want to be winning relegation battles, I want to be winning FA Cup ties and climbing the table.

"I thought we were the better team in the first half, the goal was unfortunate, but we had chances and kept going. I told them we don’t have to win the game in the first 10 minutes of the second half and we got crosses into the box.

"It was an outstanding header. He has 11 goals for us this season and he has been superb for us. He was hungry and wanted it and I am delighted."
