    Shrewsbury 0-0 West Ham

"We are the Shrewsbury, we'll sing on our own", sing a few fans in the stand.

Jon Nolan gets hacked down by Pedro Obiang in midfield. I'd say the League One side are edging this right now but there has been no quality at either end.

Shaun Whalley puts a free-kick in - that's better - they line up at the back post but Joe Hart gets his hands on it as the boots come flying in on him.

It's all about the midfield battle for now.

A dire delivery from Arthur Masuaku is a waste of a set-piece.

Shrewsbury win their own free-kick and will pump it into the mixer. Mat Sadler does so but it doesn't even reach the area from the halfway line.

The ball is cleared and we get throw in number 124,789 of the game so far.

It still amazes me in football how many teams give the ball away from throw-ins. It's a free pass.

Javier Hernandez just did it. I get so annoyed with it.

The atmosphere feels a little more sedate than what we saw at Rodney Parade but the key thing of course is that the half-half scarf has found its way into the market.

Shrewsbury are spending a solid amount of time in the West Ham half, notably taking throw ins. Danny Murphy is getting wound up about throw ins. That's coming next.

Javier Hernandez is down on the deck and no one is putting the ball out. It takes a good few seconds and in the end the referee decides he will stop it.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 West Ham

I think we've had about 50 throw ins in 15 minutes. Jon Nolan wins himself a free-kick in the West Ham half and in true lower-league spirit, this is getting pumped into the box.

It leads to a corner, Shaun Whalley with it... head tennis in the area for a few moments... pinball... cleared.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 West Ham

Carlton Morris heads over the bar as footage emerges of Joe Hart actually getting his cap from fans behind the goal.

It's not an official club one, it seems someone has literally thrown theirs down for him.

Hope they don't have dandruff. Joe doesn't need that.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 West Ham

Ben Godfrey breaks the West Ham midfield line nicely with a bursting run and finds Alex Rodman who gets hacked down.

Free-kick, some 30 yards out. Joe Hart squints under his cap. Can they test him? No. Jon Nolan finds the wall.

Josh Cullen delivers a fine corner for West Ham which gets headed back to him. Another in-swinger... flicked by Cheikhou Kouyaté - just wide.

    Steve Wilson
Match of the Day commentator on BBC One

Steve Wilson:"Even without being understandably distracted by playing Premier League games on Tuesday and Thursday, this looked a tricky game for West Ham.

"Shrewsbury are the surprise package of League One. Tipped for relegation they are actually pushing for automatic promotion.

"Their success has been based on solid defensive principles which have seen then concede only four league goals at home, the joint best record in all four of the top divisions.

"If Shrewsbury-born Joe Hart - who played for the town's cricket club as well as the football team - tweeted his delight at the draw; David Moyes kept rather quieter. Moyes is also a former Shrewsbury player, but will also recall all too well losing there in his first FA Cup tie as Everton's manager 15 years ago."

  11. West Ham have to manage the gamepublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2018

It is one extra game you wouldn't normally have.

But with the quality West Ham have, they have to manage the game.

There's a few players who haven't been playing, such as Josh Cullen. The young players can show the manager what they can do.

This is West Ham's third game in less than a week

This is yet to settle. Throw ins arrive with the regularity of Manchester rain, challenges snap around in midfield, space at a premium. Declan Rice is fouled in his own half to give us a brief pause.

Joe Hart now has a hat on. Good choice.

David Moyes is shielding his eyes from the sun. There's a low sun meaning half the pitch is in shade. Joe Hart could do with a cap because he's holding his hand up to block out the sunlight.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 West Ham

West Ham's side looks strong, just the four changes from the draw with Tottenham.

Shrewsbury made three changes and they'll prove a tough nut to crack having only conceded four goals at home this season.

The away side look to Arthur Masuaku down the left and he wins a throw.

This pitch looks a lot better than what we have seen at Rodney Parade. Does that make an upset harder to achieve?

All the carnage in that closing period also delivered a sending off of course. Bedlam.

The Newport fans cannot control themselves and have streamed out onto the pitch.

It is their first time in fourth round of the FA Cup since 1979.

It is joy all over here at Rodney Parade. Newport never gave up and won it with a 90th minute goal.
