  1. goal

GOAL: Fulham 2-1 Ipswichpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Aboubakar Kamara (71 mins)

Two quickfire goals at Molineux turned the game and now two quickfire goals at Craven Cottage have done just the same.

Ipswich were doing well until Jordan Spence was dismissed but now it's all unraveled for them.

Fulham had a great chance when Ollie Norwood had a dig at goal which was blocked but it fell kindly for Aboubakar Kamara, and the man who wears 47 (AK-47 - get it?) rattled it in like Rambo trying to shoot down a Russian helicopter.

    Oh, hang on!

  2. goal

GOAL: Fulham 1-1 Ipswichpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Ryan Sessegnon (69 mins)

Reward finally for Fulham who have bashed on the door against a hard working 10-man Ipswich and now have an equaliser.

Ryan Sessegnon came forward and picked out Aboubakar Kamara on the left side of the penalty area, he drilled the ball across and Neeskens Kebano looked like he'd made a hash of it by squirting it away from goal.

Fell straight to Sessegnon. Bang. 1-1.

  3. Postpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Fulham 0-1 Ipswich

Fulham, seeking a goal, make a change with Lucas Piazon comin on for Sheyi Oji...

He shows just how good he is with a bit of skill to take him past Dominic Iorfa but then tumbles like a clumsy toddler and is booked for simulation.

Think some of the home fans thought that was a spot-kick. It wasn't.

  4. Postpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Wolves 2-0 Brentford

We've had two quick-fire goals, followed by a flood of yellow cards for some silly cynical shirtpulling and some more orthodox fouling.

Florian Josefzoon is on for Brentford and he's already given the hosts a bit of hassle with his pace and trickery.

  5. Postpublished at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Reading 0-1 Birmingham

Birmingham also trying to defend their lead, while having the odd opportunity of their own. No real chances though.

Plenty of balls into the box by the Royals but there's been a fair few occasions where there's just no-one to put it away,

  6. Postpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Fulham 0-1 Ipswich

Bit like the Alamo (only without the gunshots and violence - well, barring Jordan Spence's ridiculous challenge) at the moment as Fulham pour forward and keep up the pressure on the Ipswich goal.

Town down to 10, I wouldn't be surprised to see them crawling deeper and deeper back toward their own goal in a bid to defend this lead.

  7. goal

GOAL: Wolves 2-0 Brentfordpublished at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Barry Douglas (59 mins)

Having put the Bees on the deck with Ruben Neves' stunning free-kick, Wolves hit Brentford with another combo.

This time it was substitute Ivan Cavaliero down the right who squared it, right into the path of the onrushing Barry Douglas who nailed it into the top corner to send Molineux into delirium.

Might just have sent Wolves 12 points clear too.

  8. RED CARD: Jordan Spencepublished at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Fulham 0-1 Ipswich

How significant could this be for Ipswich?

The Tractor Boys had to hold on for long periods in the first half before Joe Garner's opening goal - and it could be more of the same from now on as they've just been reduced to 10 men.

Defender Jordan Spence is sent off for absolutely clattering Aboubakar Kamara after the ball had already gone.

  9. goal

GOAL: Wolves 1-0 Brentfordpublished at 21:01 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Ruben Neves (57 mins)

The pressure eventually told as Wolves go in front and it took a moment of absolute quality to secure it.

Ruben Neves supplied it, £15.8m (approximately) of quality gets the Gold and Black in front.

Hammered in. But with a huge slice of subtlety. Defies logic. Wonderful.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Wolves 0-0 Brentford

Helder Costa is hooked, and Ivan Cavaliero comes on for the Wolves in his place.

Still as they were for the Bees.

  11. Postpublished at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Fulham 0-1 Ipswich

Fulham mounting a response to their half-time deficit, as Neeskens Kebano slips a pass to Sheyi Oji, and his shot goes over the bar. Best of the second-half thus far.

Simon Latson: Jaap Stam has got about 45 minutes to keep the majority of fans onside. Not going his way right now and we’re only four points above the relegation zone. Hand hovering above the panic button...

Simon Atkins: I have to say, I'm still not convinced by Steve Cotterill, but with a massive win for us against Leeds, and looking like another again tonight, he may just change my mind!

Terry: Super bees once again proving #TeamsLikeBrentford, external deserve more credit on a smaller budget than most on the league

  13. Postpublished at 20:55 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Wolves 0-0 Brentford

Brentford work a lovely chance in the Wolves penalty area as Chris Mepham tees up Sergi Canos out wide and after a bit of trickery he picks up the return and tries to get it into the box.

Wolves cut it out and eventually clear. Brentford have certainly not come to lie down.

  14. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

Wolves 0-0 Brentford, Fulham 0-1 Ipswich

Under way again in the 19:45 GMT kick-offs...

It doesn't take Wolves long to have a dig again either?! Leo Bonatini sauntered through and fired a shot away but it's saved by Daniel Bentley again.

Bonatini hit the post in the second minute, he's had another pop early in the second half.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Reading 0-1 Birmingham

    Reading v BirminghamImage source, Empics

Credit to Birmingham, they've eaked out a lead at half-time and despite living a little dangerously at times have done the job so far.

Great goal by Jacques Maghoma. Thumped in. What can Reading do after half-time? They'll need some inspiration.

    HT: Wolves 0-0 Brentford

Gary Wolinski: Dean Smith has got a potential to become a Premier League manager. Every game Brentford are a master class when comes to possession, now imagine where would Brentford be with a better defence & without 21 points lost from winning position this season

Peter Howe: Brentford are hardly just ‘frustrating’ Wolves they’re taking the game to them and dominating possession

Fair point Peter, but we're talking about a team that have blasted a few teams out of sight this season and haven't lost since October. I think they'll be frustrated whether it's through their own inability to convert and/or Brentford's adventure. And I think Brentford would be pleased by that.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Reading 0-1 Birmingham

David Stockdale was a promotion winner last season with Brighton and it's fair to say this term couldn't have gone any more differently for him.

Birmingham are down at the wrong end of the table, but tonight the former Darlington custodian is pulling out all the stops. Literally.

This time he's denied Sone Aluko who was well placed and fancied a goal. Super effort. Super save. Not long til the break now.

  18. 'The luck of the Irish for Brentford?'published at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    HT: Wolves 0-0 Brentford

Not quite sure how often Brentford have been turning up for matches dressed as the Ireland rugby team, but they've certainly had the luck of the Irish in keeping out Championship leaders Wolves so far tonight.

One against the post, one off the line and three fine saves from visiting keeper Daniel Bentley adds up to a goalless first half at Molineux.

The last time it happened, just two home games ago, Sunderland went the whole hog and escaped with a 0-0 draw. But Brentford are a far more attack-minded side and have had chances themselves on the break. Surely goals will follow here in the second half!

  19. Postpublished at 20:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Reading 0-1 Birmingham

Birmingham almost doubled the lead there as Sam Gallagher scampered through but Vito Mannone denies him with a smart save.

Reading have had the ball in good areas since going behind but I can't say they've had many concrete chances.

Away teams in the ascendancy tonight, in the Championship at least!

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Fulham 0-1 Ipswich

Football eh? Fulham cruised at times in that first-half but one big chance was converted for Ipswich and they made it pay.

There were chances galore for the home side but they did not make one count. They copped a whack in the proverbial chops at the end of the half.

Wipe that bloodied nose Fulham, you'll need to come out fighting after the break.
