I’m happy with the Kloppmeister. He’s got a consistent beard & I think that’s paying off with more consistency on the pitch. #dontshave

  2. Nadir Ciftci on the move again?published at 12:19 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2018

Things haven't gone well for Nadir Ciftci since he swapped Dundee United for Celtic in 2015.

He's on his third loan - this time at Plymouth Argyle - and they're looking to move him on.

He hasn't scored for the club in any of his eight appearances.

Argyle boss Derek Adams said: "His agent's working to find a club for him, and if he can find that then it might be the best solution that Nadir moves on."

Liam Nield: The media have perpetuated a negative image of Mourinho for years now. He plays pragmatic football that, when executed well, produces results & plenty of goals. Look no further than Klopp & Wenger to see where disregarding defense gets you.

Richard: All these United "fans calling for Jose's head have forgotten the job he's done in the circumstances we're in. It's irrefutable that we've made progress and that players have grown. We have no entitlement to be winning everything. Grow up

We're getting reaction on the managerial situations at Southampton and Manchester United - keep them coming and the floor is open to everyone.

How do you feel about your club's manager and is anyone happy out there? It would be great to hear from some happy fans - just include your name, team and why you're happy with your manager.....

Time for change at saints, though I feel we get what we deserve after constantly selling our best players. I never wanted Puel to leave, he got the best out of sub-standard players such as Redmond, Boufal and Tadic who would not have made the team two years ago. Pellegrino has had no clue since he started, has the look of a guy who won a competition to be manager for the day and just never left.

  5. Keane is Everton's only doubt for the Derbypublished at 11:59 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2018

Liverpool v Everton (Friday, 20.00 GMT)

More from Sam Allardyce now, who says defender Michael Keane is likely to sit out the game at Anfield.

Keane needed stitches in his foot after Everton's defeat against Manchester United and Allardyce doesn't want to make the injury worse.

"I think it will be too dangerous to risk him, but everyone else is okay," said Allardyce.

Pellegrino OUT - why are only big clubs (Man U) fans on here talking about their manager. We have been excellent with 4 different managers over the past 4 seasons, but our luck has run out with this formula. We’ll take Mourinho if you don’t want him.

Re. Nick C - however, it has emerged that if Giggs had been appointed or at least listened to, United would have bought both Mbappe and Jesus for about 5 million.

Liverpool v Everton (Friday, 20.00 GMT)

It appears Everton are getting closer to signing Cenk Tosun but what does that mean for fellow striker Sandro?

Here's Sam Allardyce: "There have been no bids for Sandro. If anybody was to leave, it would have to be the right fee for us."

  8. Festive Fixtures - vote resultpublished at 11:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2018

We asked you to vote on whether there are too many games over the festive period.

Here's the breakdown of the vote:

37% Clubs take the TV money and have to accept the schedule.

19% Jose Mourinho and Alan Pardew are right - It's unfair that certain teams have more rest time than others.

17% I agree with Pep Guardiola - Players are "artists" and the schedule is "killing them".

14% The relentless schedule will have a negative impact on England at this summer's World Cup.

13% I can't get enough football and love all of the extra games and bonus Match of the Days.

You can read more here and you can also still get in touch with your thoughts on the fixture list. Do we ask to much of players over Christmas?

I'm detecting a little sarcasm here....

why oh why oh why hasn’t Ryan Giggs’ name been mentioned for the United job? He’s the bookies/media’s favourite for every other Premier League vacancy going so he must be a brilliant manager. Giggsy In!!!!

  10. Deal agreed for Cenk Tosun - Allardycepublished at 11:36 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2018

Sam Allardyce has been speaking ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup Derby and he's confirmed Everton are close to signing the Turkish International.

"We've agreed a deal and are at the stage of personal terms. Hopefully, we might be able to get him registered in time to play in the cup," said Allardyce.

Who will be the first to say he's set for a baptism of fire if he plays? Liverpool fans are you worried?

9aldridges: 18 months into Mourinho's tenure and I'm still not sure he's the right fit for United..that said, players need to stand up and be counted. Too many shrinking violets too often this season! Steve in windy Bristol.

george ormandy: Who cares if moanrinho leaves. The other top 5 clubs have managers who want to entertain and play attacking football. Mourinho plays negative boring defensive "stop the opposition" tactics

So Celtic who have £20m plus from Champions League revenue, £9.375m from the 12.5% sell on clause from VVD’s sale to Liverpool, and potentially £25m from selling Dembele (inevitable) think it’s acceptable to spend £1m on a 32 year old German reserve defender, and £300k on a young player who’s years (if ever) away from first team? The reason the invincibles have regressed is lack of investment. Competition from quality buys is needed to push on the under performers this season who carried the team last season. Come on Brendan, open the clubs wallet!!

  13. Cenk Tosun edging closer to Everton?published at 11:24 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2018

This one has dragged on for a few days but it looks like we could be on the verge of a breakthrough.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman has been quoted as saying: "Cenk wants to join Everton. We want to do our part and we are working on a replacement.

"A final deal has not been reached yet but we have an agreement over the price. The end is near. The transfer will be wrapped up by the weekend."

It's believed the fee for the striker will be £27m.

  15. Sinisa shown the door at Torinopublished at 11:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2018

Torino have sacked coach Sinisa Mihajlovic following their 2-0 Italian Cup exit to Juventus.

He leaves with the club tenth in Serie A with just five wins in 19 games this season, including six draws in their last eight league games.

Former Watford manager Walter Mazzarri has been tipped to replace him.

United fan here. People forget just how far jose has brought us in a very short space of time. Scoring more goals. Conceding less. (Mostly) attacking more than under LvG and WAY more than Moyes. The players he has brought in have mostly flourished. Zlatan carried us last year. Pogba is crucial to us playing well. Bailly is our best defender. Matic, tho ageing, plugged an important gap. Unless we can convince pochetino to join us (and he's certainly no guarantee of success) who else do we get? Stick with jose. And start backing Lukaku more! He needs the love.

#bbcfootball or text 81111 (UK only)

We've been getting plenty of reaction to today's stories in the newspapers regarding Jose Mourinho's future at Man United. Thanks for that and keep it coming.

Let's have a closer look at what the Daily Mail, external are reporting.

They claim United fear he may not be there next season.

Their reasoning for this? Well, they say staff say he's become more withdrawn and is spending less and less time in Manchester.

The paper also claim observers have said Mourinho seems to be having third-season syndrome early

Let Phil Coutinho go in the summer, agree the move now. He will enjoy his last 4 months at the club and push the club to the top 4. If he wants out now, put £40m on Sanchez.
