If Brighton can hold on for the three points here it'll be absolutely massive for them - it's so tight and congested down at the bottom of the table - it'll do masses for their confidence too.

Stoke have been very poor, Brighton have gone there and have been on the front foot all afternoon. You'd certainly expect more from Stoke, on a day what a lot of people have described as a 'must win game'.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

    Stoke City 0-1 Brighton

Referee Bobby Madley has blown for half-time.

Stoke boss Paul Lambert is straight down the tunnel and he will have a lot to say after his side were second best there.

As for Hughton - he may well simply ask for more of the same because his men have been very bright even though clear chances as a whole have been few and far between.

  7. Late actionpublished at 45 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Brighton

Davy Propper gets a header on Gros' corner but it flies over the bar.

At the other end Choupo-Moting goes through but Ezequiel Schelotto is strong and gets in a block.

    Stoke 0-1 Brighton

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

It was a great goal from Jose Izquierdo, he seemed surprised that he'd scored himself to be honest, because he didn't celebrate. That goal is exactly what that game needed to get it going.

  9. Gross does so wellpublished at 43 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Brighton

Lovely footwork from Pascal Gross as Brighton threaten a second and Stoke just manage to clear.

The grumbles are starting around the Bet 365 stadium as the visitors look comfortably the better side going forward; full of pace, energy and brio.

  10. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Brighton

Brighton have scored in consecutive Premier League away games for the first time since November, after a run of six games without a goal on the road. Venture.

  11. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Brighton

Brighton broke their transfer record for the third time in the summer by signing Colombian international Izquierdo from Club Brugge.

He cost about £13.5m - although they'd later pay more for Jurgen Locadia in January.

It looks like a very good bit of business from Hughton.

  12. Two in twopublished at 35 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Brighton

Izquierdo scored a cracker last week in the win over West Ham at the Amex and that was another scrap-book effort.

    He's flying.

  13. goal

GOAL Jose Izquierdopublished at 32 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Brighton

That was lovely stuff from Brighton. Izquierdo started his run from the left, swapped passes with two team-mates and then finished smartly on his right foot.

    Excellent.

We've had plenty of shots but precious few clear chances so far...

  15. Over the barpublished at 28 mins

    Stoke City 0-0 Brighton

    Jose Izquierdo is so rapid!

He sprints onto a nice ball from Dale Stephens, cuts inside and lashes a shot just over. The Colombian is full of confidence right now.

Solly March tries a shot from just outside the area, in a central position, but it's right at Butland who deals comfortably enough with it.

  17. Close!published at 23 mins

    Stoke City 0-0 Brighton

First corner of the game for Stoke after Choupo-Moting's header deflected behind.

Ball goes right across the area and Zouma knocks It down. Shaqiri swivels and just clears the bar.

This is better from the hosts.

  18. CLOSE!published at 17 mins

    Stoke City 0-0 Brighton

Glenn Murray prods a close-range shot just over the bar. He's been on fine goal-scoring form lately but that was almost too close as Butland bore down on him.

  19. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

That's better from Choupo-Moting. This time he keeps his strike down and it flies narrowly past Mat Ryan's post. He had team-mates either side of him to pass to, mind you.

  20. Postpublished at 15 mins

End to end stuff so far. Both teams looking to hit the other on the back of mistakes.
