    Little (un)interesting fact for you.

Badou Ndiaye has 'Badou' on the back of his shirt. Not Ndiaye.

    ***tumbleweed****

    He's started very well today.

  2. Postpublished at 11 mins

He's back on his feet and fine to carry on.

  3. Postpublished at 10 mins

Stoke's Kurt Zouma is having some treatment after jumping for the ball and falling awkwardly. He seems to have jarred his lower back.

  4. ouch!

Strong tackle from Badou Ndiaye on Solly March. Hard but clean and fair. The home fans will love that. They've already warmed to him after a strong debut at Bournemouth.

  5. Postpublished at 5 mins

Eric Choupo-Moting hits a shot high over the bar. He found a bit of time and space but that was a poor effort.

Stoke have to settle down a bit now after that scare and they're certainly having more of the ball. Brighton are energetically pressing though.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 3 mins

Jack Butland is at full stretch to deny Jose Izquierdo as Brighton find plenty of pace to get at Stoke down their right.

West Brom and Southampton served up a goal feast for me last weekend, but I can't see this match doing the same. No more than two goals at best, I reckon.

Paul Lambert was adamant his Stoke side deserved at least a point at Bournemouth last week but that defeat leaves them in the relegation zone.

Supporters have seen improved performances since the Scot replaced Mark Hughes, but anything less than three points from this one will seriously dampen the Potters' positivity.

Boosted by their vital win over West Ham, Chris Hughton's Brighton now need to address their woeful away form: a paltry two points and a pitiful one goal from their last seven on the road. Worryingly, they haven't won in Stoke for 57 years.

  10. Locadia must waitpublished at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Chris Hughton gave a subtle hint that club record signing Jurgen Locadia may not start today when he said the German, 24, lacked vital game time.

"He hasn't played any under-23 matches but has had a good week and a half's training, going into the game," said the Seagulls boss.

"He's been out a period of time. Some can fit straight back in, others may take a little longer but the main thing he's fit and available."

Jack Butland probably doesn't need to ask for the decibel levels to be raised at the Bet 365 stadium. They're usually cranked right up anyway.

But he has, in an interview with the Stoke Sentinel.

“All we can ask is just noise, like they bring – and to be positive all game long.

“Frustrations can sometimes boil over into boos or things like that and we get that but we’ve got 12 games left, 12 cup finals, and we need the fans at it just as much as we need to be at it.

“I’m actually really looking forward to the occasion now. I believe in us and I know the fans will do as well. With them behind us we will be fine.”

Jese Rodriguez will return to the Stoke squad for the first time in two months today.

The 24-year-old, who is on a season-long loan with the Potters from Paris St-Germain, has not been involved on a matchday since the win over Swansea on 2 December.

Jese, an unused substitute for that game, was disciplined for leaving the stadium early after then-boss Mark Hughes made his final two changes.

The ex-Real Madrid striker has also had personal problems throughout this term having made frequent trips to the Canary Islands following the premature birth of his son Nyan.

Jese returned to training with Stoke late last month and was watched by Lambert when he featured for the under-23s on Monday.

"He will be back in the squad," said Lambert. "He's had a bit of time out and I thought his fitness levels were down a little bit because of his personal stuff."

Jese began his Stoke career by netting the winner against Arsenal on his debut, but that remains his only goal for the club.

It's a big day for the Potters with Paul Lambert back on home soil and eager for more points to add to their Premier League survival hopes.

Stoke have only won one of their past five league games and and were beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth last time out, the first loss Lambert had suffered since starting the job.

The performance of midfielder Badou Ndiaye greatly pleased his manager though.

Senegal player Ndiaye was a £14m acquisition from Galatasaray on transfer deadline day.

"I thought he was excellent," Lambert said of Ndiaye's debut. "He was on for 60-odd minutes and for a lad who had only come in on Friday and didn't know anyone's name as such, he fitted in brilliantly.

"A week's full training will have done him the world of good."

Stoke will begin the weekend in the relegation zone but would move level on points with 13th-placed Brighton if they beat the Seagulls.
