Porto haven't been great defensively, they want to attack as much as Liverpool. They should have scored in the move before if Mane squared the ball to Wijnaldum, but eventually it fell back to Mane, and I tell you what; the keeper doesn’t cover himself in glory. Just squirms under his body.

Ian: Why aren’t Liverpool playing in red? It’s not like the kits clash.

Akin: Not sure Liverpool have had any poor results in this orange jersey.

Richard: This Porto keeper must be made of Swiss cheese. How does that go through him?

A great save from PSG keeper Alphonse Areola keeps Real Madrid out. A wonderful Marcelo cross cuts PSG open, Cristiano Ronaldo takes a couple of touches and then blasts the ball at the face of Areola, who looks like he might be knocked out for a second.

But the goalkeeper is fine to continue. He made himself big, which is what forced Ronaldo into a quick shot.

Chance for Real Madrid. PSG midfielder Giovani lo Celso is booked for fouling Isco and Cristiano Ronaldo fires the free-kick just over the bar.

When Liverpool step it up, they seemed to find little pockets of space really easily.

When they decide to up it a bit, they go through the Porto defence with such ease.

I know it is 0-0, but I think Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with the start.

Dani Alves - who has played in so many classic games against Real Madrid for Barcelona - plays in a cross but Edinson Cavani can't keep it in play.

Neymar is now hacked down by Luka Modric, but the Real Madrid player avoids a yellow card. It was a fairly similar challenge. Not sure he's too happy at the moment.

Been going on about Otavio from the start of the game. Where have they been hiding him?

Absolutely been the best players in this game by a country mile so far. Yes it’s early days, but I think he’s been a real surprise to Liverpool, I don’t they were expecting him in there. Classic number 10 position, really intelligent with the ball.

Otavio is a 23-year-old number 10, no caps for Brazil.

Neymar controls a long ball, but he used his hand to get it down and it went wide anyway.

He's a bit riled up, wanted a corner I suspect, and seconds later he hacks down Nacho from behind - getting a yellow card. Against his future team-mates?

Juventus were 2-0 up against Spurs, and Manchester City had just taken the lead in Basel by this stage yesterday.

Liverpool's first chance as Robert Firmino finds left-back Andrew Robertson, who pops a shot over the bar from 25 yards.

Real defender Marcelo gets a whack from fellow Brazil full-back Dani Alves and goes down with what looks for a minute like it might be a serious injury.

He gets treatment and he's back on, although he's grimacing.
