Swindon were feeling pretty happy close to half-time too, as former Port Vale striker Marc Richards' second goal of the game had the Robins 2-1 up against the Valiants, but Cristian Montano quickly levelled.

Wycombe deserve a mention here too, scoring twice late in the half to lead 2-0 at Cheltenham.

After an encouraging start, it's been a pretty tame first half in League One.

There's just two more goals for me to tell you about at half-time, but the first is a big one, Richard Wood slotting Rotherham ahead at leaders Shrewsbury.

Plymouth have also got on the scoresheet, Sonny Bradley heading in the first goal of the afternoon at Oxford United.

• Cardiff City are second in the Championship as it stands, 1-0 up at home to Middlesbrough thanks to Sean Morrison's goal.
• Sunderland are 2-0 down at home to Brentford, with the Black Cats heading for a 16th league defeat of 2017-18.
• Burton are drawing 0-0 against Nottingham Forest, who have Eric Lichaj sent off. If the Brewers win, they will leapfrog Sunderland send Chris Coleman's side bottom.
• Every other game in the Championship is 0-0 at half-time, including Fulham's home game against Aston Villa.

There's not been too much to write home about in the second tier so far but, alas, the half-time headlines are coming up next...

Meanwhile, Portsmouth have found a route back into their game at Southend, Gareth Evans' close-range finish making it 2-1 to the hosts.

Before Sean Morrison's goal, this game had been desperately short of action.

There has been a decent atmosphere at the Cardiff City Stadium for this encounter, and the home fans are in fine voice after seeing their centre-back and skipper score his second goal this week.

Mixed feelings for Marc Richards?

The striker scored 75 goals in 201 appearances for Port Vale, but today he's on the opposite side, scoring for Swindon to make it 1-1 at the County Ground.

It's been a dreadful season for Fleetwood so far, and it's not looking like getting any better.

A play-off side last year, the Cod Army are firmly in the League One relegation battle.

They now trail Doncaster 2-0, Tom Anderson scoring his first Rovers goal after John Marquis' free-kick was parried into his path.

This isn't going too well for out-of-form Nottingham Forest at Burton.

Eric Lichaj has received his marching orders for a poor tackle on Martin Samuelsen and, with Sunderland losing, this could be a great chance for Burton to move off the bottom of the Championship.

It's a scrappy encounter in south Wales but no goals as we approach the midway point of the first half.

Middlesbrough's Adama Traore fires goalwards but Neil Etheridge is on hand to save for Cardiff City.

Let's be honest, half these Championship sides are still in the dressing rooms today.

Fortunately, League Two is coming up with the goods with five more goals since our last update.

Forest Green are boosting their survival hopes as they lead at Morecambe, while Crawley are 1-0 up against fellow play-off hopefuls Lincoln.

Finely poised is the way you'd describe the proceedings at Deepdale so far.

There's been just one shot from either side in 22 minutes between Preston and Wolves.

Plenty of chances at Craven Cottage but no rumbles of an earthquake in the aftermath of an opening goal just yet.

Scott Hogan and Birkir Bjarnason have both shot wide for Aston Villa but it remains goalless.
