  3. Remembering Robsonpublished at 12:54 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2018

    HT: Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

This was a really nice touch from Norwich City's social media team before kick-off, if you missed it.

Sir Bobby Robson spent 13 years in charge of Ipswich Town, winning the FA Cup in 1978 and the Uefa Cup in 1981.

    Head to headImage source, .

It's been frantic, it's been manic, but still we're waiting for our first goal of the 101st East Anglian derby.

The record between these two in the previous 100 competitive meetings is quite remarkable, really - 40 wins apiece, 20 draws.

So are one of these teams heading for win number 41 today? Or has it got draw 21 written all over it?

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

And there is the half-time whistle.

It's goalless at the break and, for all their attacking threat and territory, I'd have thought Ipswich will be frustrated that's the case.

  6. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 44 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

Half-time can't come soon enough for Norwich.

Dominic Iorfa charges into the area for Ipswich and goes down, with his team-mates convinced it should be a penalty for their team.

But it's not and, in truth, the replays don't do Iorfa too many favours either. It looked a dive.

    Nearly!

Martyn Waghorn's fierce shot takes a slight deflection on its way through the wall but goalkeeper Angus Gunn, watched by his dad and former Norwich man Bryan Gunn today, beats it away.

  8. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

Ipswich Town have looked the team far more likely to score here, make no mistake about that.

Martyn Waghorn is brought down around 20 yards from goal - can the Tractor Boys make one of these set-pieces count before half-time?

  9. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

That's a really nice turn from Joe Garner's strike partner Martyn Waghorn, creating a shooting opportunity for himself but he can't get it past the the blocking Norwich defender.

For a moment it loops up to Callum Connolly, who heads towards goal, but the linesman's flag is up.

Joe Garner must be such an annoying, niggly sort of striker to play against. He's just a constant menace and, generally, pretty effective too.

Again he tangles with a Norwich defender and is straight up off the deck flapping his arms around demanding a decision, but the referee is unmoved.

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

And now a sighter from Josh Murphy, who twists and turns himself half a yard of space but can't guide his curling effort on target.

Both sets of attackers are being restricted to long-range efforts.

  12. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

From a free-kick from at least 30 yards out, Ipswich's Callum Connolly surprisingly elects to shoot at goal and his fizzing effort does force Angus Gunn to fumble initially, but Joe Garner can't get to the rebound first.

  13. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

Some rare territory for Norwich, here, as Cameron Carter-Vickers hauls down Josh Murphy.

But it amounts to nothing, as James Maddison whips his free-kick beyond his team-mates but not close enough to the far post to cause a genuine problem.

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

We're nearly half an hour in at Carrow Road and it's absolutely flown by, but I'm struggling to remember too many genuine efforts on goal.

The Jonas Kudsen header and low Joe Garner shot aside, there's not been too much action to write home about.

  15. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

Ipswich have edged this first 24 minutes, I reckon.

Norwich will be frustrated that James Maddison hasn't really had a kick yet, with Cole Skuse sticking to him like glue.

How can the the hosts get their key man into the game?

... But again Norwich get the ball clear.

Soon after, Nelson Oliveira swivels and sends a sighter towards goal from fully 30 yards, but it's never likely to trouble Bartosz Bialowski.

  17. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

Joe Garner has been constantly at the referee since the first whistle and, after being brought down wide right, this time gets the decision. It looked soft, I have to say.

A chance for Ipswich to get the ball in the box, though...

  18. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

Joe Garner pinches the ball and sets Ipswich strike partner Martyn Waghorn clear, but Grant Hanley does really well to get back to him.

Waghorn goes down in the area after their long tussle and wants a penalty, but the referee waves his appeals away.

On first viewing, no chance for me, either. Hanley was just too strong for him.

    Mick McCarthyImage source, Rex Features

There's been plenty of speculation surrounding Mick McCarthy's future as Ipswich Town manager - some of it fueled by the man himself, it must be said.

Will he be off in the summer? Could this be his last East Anglian derby?

Either way, he'll be pretty satisfied with the opening quarter of an hour.

  20. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

Such is the pace and tempo at which the game's being played, it almost feels like a five-a-side contest, with both teams constantly harried and hustled in possession.

As you'd expect, time and space is at a premium.
