    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

Goodness me, two chances for Ipswich in the blink of an eye!

First Jonas Kudson sends a far-post header wide of the post when, really, he should've done a bit better.

And then Town's high press catches Norwich cold and leads to a shot from Joe Garner, which forces Angus Gunn to turn behind for a corner.

That's a bit more like it.

The first ironic cheers of derby day take seven minutes to arrive, coming at the expense of Ipswich striker Joe Garner, who tries to switch the ball quickly from one foot to another but simply runs it straight out for a goal kick.

At the other end, Josh Murphy tries to latch onto a long ball forward but goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski is first to it.

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

After a manic first couple of minutes, Norwich begin to assert a bit of authority, pinging around a few passes on halfway to settle some nerves.

Former Bristol City midfielder Cole Skuse already appears to be going man-to-man on star Canary James Maddison.

  4. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

... But it comes to nothing for the Tractor Boys, with Martyn Waghorn's eventual attempt on goal drifting harmlessly wide.

As you'd expect, a frantic start.

  5. Postpublished at 1 min

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

The visitors, immediately on the front foot, have won a corner inside the opening 60 seconds.

The sun is shining at Carrow Road and, annoyingly for Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn, right into his eyes.

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Norwich 0-0 Ipswich

Since the turn of the Millennium, this fixture has been played 18 times on a Sunday - three times as many as any other fixture in the second tier.

More pointless stats and, hopefully, plenty of entertainment and a few goals are coming right up.

James Maddison gets the 101st East Anglian derby under way.

Norwich are in their usual yellow and green, Ipswich in blue and white.

Kick-off is just a few moments away.

Speaking of Mick McCarthy - the record I just mentioned, of course, means the former Sunderland and Wolves boss has never won an Old Farm derby.

In fact, Ipswich haven't beaten Norwich at Carrow Road since February 2006, a game they won 2-1 thanks to Jimmy Juan's strike and a Gary Doherty own goal.

Time for a chance in fortune? Big Mick certainly hopes so.

“I’d love to win it for the fans," McCarthy told BBC Radio Suffolk. "They’ve been long-suffering against Norwich. It would be great for them to see us get a win.”

Norwich are unbeaten in their past nine matches against Ipswich in all competitions, having not tasted defeat in the East Anglian derby since a 3-2 loss in April 2009.

The Canaries won the reverse fixture at Portman Road 1-0 back in October - but that doesn't mean they'll be taking their rivals lightly today.

“They have a really aggressive attitude and a big fighting will," manager Daniel Farke told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"They have a pretty experienced coach, with Mick McCarthy, and he knows exactly what you need to do to win games.”

While there was plenty of toing and froing at the top and bottom yesterday, it's probably hard to see how much is really on this game beyond local bragging rights, in truth.

Both teams are locked in mid-table, eight points adrift of the play-off places but 16 clear of relegation trouble.

Could victory today spark a late charge for the top six? That'll be the message from both managers, you'd have thought.

    Speaking of the gaffers...

Wolverhampton Wanderers remained 11 points clear at the top of the Championship, coming from 1-0 down to draw at 10-man play-off hopefuls Preston North End.

Ryan Sessegnon scored as Fulham secured a fine win over promotion rivals Aston Villa, who subsequently dropped a place to third in the table.

Sean Morrison's header gave Cardiff City victory over Middlesbrough, a result that sent the Bluebirds second.

Sunderland lost 2-0 at home to Brentford, but Burton were unable to cash in on that result, drawing 0-0 against 10-man Nottingham Forest.

Being FA Cup weekend, it's been a funny old round of fixtures in the Championship. No Friday night game, only seven matches to get stuck into on Saturday and now another two today.

On the off chance that you've been thrown out a wee bit by all the funky scheduling, here's a round-up of what you might've missed yesterday...

Subs: Crowe, McGoldrick, Celina, Spence, Ward, Hyam, Carayol.

There's no other day quite like derby day.
