    The whistle goes for half-time.

It has been attritional. We can only hope for better in the second half.

  2. CLOSE!published at 45+2 mins

    Cardiff City 0-0 Bristol City

Hordur Magnusson sets up a Bristol City attack from a long throw.

Eventually the ball drops to Famara Diedhiou, who flicks the ball back across goal but it is headed over the bar by an unmarked Lois Diony from about seven yards out.

That was a chance for the Robins.

Junior Hoilett's low ball in looking for Cardiff striker Gary Madine is cut out at the near post by Aden Flint.

Junior Hoilett has looked the most likely player to make the difference for Cardiff City so far.

Bristol City's top scorer Bobby Reid, who has 16 in all competitions this season, has been quiet this afternoon with Famara Diedhiou leading the line instead.

With both sides chasing promotion - and it being a derby as well - it's probably not overly surprising that it has been cagey and a game of few chances so far.

Bristol City probably have more to lose, as they are looking to hang on to their play-off spot after a run of one win in nine in the Championship.

The visitors are looking fairly comfortable at the back so far.

Bristol City deal with the corner, which ended up being a bit scrappy.

Bluebirds left-back Joe Bennett goes down under the chalenge of Lois Diony, but referee Paul Tierney decides it wasn't a foul.

Was it a dive from Bennett? He may have got away with one there.

  9. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Cardiff City 0-0 Bristol City

Cardiff win another corner through the sheer endeavour of Junior Hoilett, who blocks a clearance and then gets a return pass from Gary Madine.

Can the hosts' top scorer spark some action?

  10. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Cardiff City 0-0 Bristol City

Bristol City get some decent interplay going, but Joe Bryan's cross from the left is blocked by Matthew Connolly.

Cardiff keeper Neil Etheridge then chests down a throw back from Greg Halford, and has to rush his clearance under pressure from Famara Diedhiou.

Can the Robins create something before the break? Etheridge hasn't been tested yet.

    Cardiff City 0-0 Bristol City

Bristol City's Frank Fielding makes the games first save.

A great run from Liam Feeney is difficult to track, as he collects a through ball from Sol Bamba and shoots first time.

But he's off balance and it's on his weaker left foot, and it is straightforward for the keeper.

Still, a shot on target from the hosts.

    Cardiff City 0-0 Bristol City

We are yet to have a shot on target or any real save for either keeper to make.

It has been a real battle at the Cardiff City Stadium, with both sides nullifying each other so far.

Bristol City have been harried on the ball, and Cardiff have been well marshalled.

Bristol City are putting centre-back Aden Flint, the tallest man on the pitch, up in the Cardiff half to try and win the aerial battle from their own goal kicks.

Seems a novel way of trying to combat Cardiff's physicality.

    Cardiff City 0-0 Bristol City

The delivery from Joe Ralls, a left-footed inswinger, is just too high for Sol Bamba to get on the end of.

The Cardiff captain shows his frustration and Matthew Connolly can't get the ball back in the box.

  15. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Cardiff City 0-0 Bristol City

A back-header by Aden Flint gets Cardiff striker Gary Madine excited, but Nathan Baker manages to get there and clear the danger.

Hordur Magnusson then manages to block a Liam Feeney cross and it goes behind for a second Cardiff corner.

Remember, victory for Cardiff would take them four points clear of third-placed Aston Villa.

The Bluebirds are looking to return to the top flight for the first time since 2013-14, and came into this match on a seven-game unbeaten run in the league.

The tackles are starting to fly in now and the crowd are getting into this game.

This atmosphere has a real derby feel to it, and one gets the sense the aggression might boil over at some point.

  18. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Cardiff City 0-0 Bristol City

Bristol City win a free-kick on the edge of the area for a foul on Famara Diedhiou, but

Robins centre-back Aden Flint has been going toe-to-toe with Cardiff skipper Sol Bamba from the early set pieces, and it's been quite a battle between the big boys so far.

The hosts manage to clear the ball away.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15 mins

    Cardiff City 0-0 Bristol City

Cardiff centre-back Matthew Connolly goes into the book for a foul on Joe Bryan, who had nipped in and got the ball ahead of him.

One player from each side cautioned now.
