Junior Hoilett has looked the most likely player to make the difference for Cardiff City so far.

Bristol City's top scorer Bobby Reid, who has 16 in all competitions this season, has been quiet this afternoon with Famara Diedhiou leading the line instead.

With both sides chasing promotion - and it being a derby as well - it's probably not overly surprising that it has been cagey and a game of few chances so far.

Bristol City probably have more to lose, as they are looking to hang on to their play-off spot after a run of one win in nine in the Championship.

The visitors are looking fairly comfortable at the back so far.

Bristol City deal with the corner, which ended up being a bit scrappy.

Bluebirds left-back Joe Bennett goes down under the chalenge of Lois Diony, but referee Paul Tierney decides it wasn't a foul.

Was it a dive from Bennett? He may have got away with one there.

Cardiff win another corner through the sheer endeavour of Junior Hoilett, who blocks a clearance and then gets a return pass from Gary Madine.

Can the hosts' top scorer spark some action?

Bristol City get some decent interplay going, but Joe Bryan's cross from the left is blocked by Matthew Connolly.

Cardiff keeper Neil Etheridge then chests down a throw back from Greg Halford, and has to rush his clearance under pressure from Famara Diedhiou.

Can the Robins create something before the break? Etheridge hasn't been tested yet.

But he's off balance and it's on his weaker left foot, and it is straightforward for the keeper.

It has been a real battle at the Cardiff City Stadium, with both sides nullifying each other so far.

Bristol City have been harried on the ball, and Cardiff have been well marshalled.

Bristol City are putting centre-back Aden Flint, the tallest man on the pitch, up in the Cardiff half to try and win the aerial battle from their own goal kicks.

Seems a novel way of trying to combat Cardiff's physicality.

The delivery from Joe Ralls, a left-footed inswinger, is just too high for Sol Bamba to get on the end of.

A back-header by Aden Flint gets Cardiff striker Gary Madine excited, but Nathan Baker manages to get there and clear the danger.
