  2. 'A selection headache'published at 22:28 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Chelsea 4-0 Hull

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, speaking to MOTD: "It was a positive night, Olivier Giroud got his first goal and Willian had an impressive performance.

"For sure when I go home, I have many good doubts because I have to try to make the best decision for Tuesday and to have many options is good for me and good for the team."

  3. 'Now we prepare for Barcelona'published at 22:21 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Chelsea 4-0 Hull

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to BT Sport: “Good game, good performance. It was great for us. The most important thing is that we are in the next round. Now we have to prepare for the game against Barcelona.

“You hope to always have a game that you can dominate. Our start was impressive. We started with great focus and concentration, will to score and wanted to go to the next round. I’m really pleased with the commitment of my players.

“It was a positive night for us because we had the opportunity to rest some important players. At the same time, I saw players in good form. I have different options. Now we have three days to make the best decision for the game against Barcelona.

“We lost two games at the end of a busy period. Now we have the right confidence again. But in the next two weeks we have to play massive games and we must be strong – Barcelona, United and City. We are ready.”

  4. 'Good character'published at 22:21 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Chelsea 4-0 Hull

A bit more Nigel Adkins, this time speaking to MOTD: "They were very good in first half, we gifted them some positions but we knew it was going to be a tough ask. We were not close enough in the first, but the second half a totally different story.

"We could have taken foot off the gas,but we were a lot more assertive, the players responded in a positive manner and we have 15 cup finals now. It was good character.

"We came with a game plan that went out of the window within two minutes. It’s a great learning lesson for some of the younger players – you cannot give the ball away cheaply, but the players showed great spirit in the second half because there is a spirit around ourselves."

  5. 'First half, well done Chelsea. Second half, well done us'published at 22:14 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Chelsea 4-0 Hull

Hull boss Nigel Adkins to BT Sport: “We gifted them an early goal. You could see their flair and how they break up play. We allowed them too much ball in the first half.

“The second half was a different story, although it was game over. We kept the ball and built things. There was great character from the players. At 4-0 down it could have gone the other way. We should have scored some goals.

"Evandro played his first 90 minutes for god knows how long. Michael Dawson was playing, that’s the first time he’s played with Angus MacDonald. That looks a good partnership.

“Whoever was fit for selection was out there today. First half, well done Chelsea. Second half, well done us. We have 15 cup games to go.”

  6. 'I'm relieved'published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Chelsea 4-0 Hull

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud to BT Sport: “I was waiting for it [a first goal]. I had a couple of chances in previous games. It was important for me to score my first goal. It's relieved me a little bit.

“We can see the team had a good team cohesion. It was important to bounce back after some disappointing results.

“This confidence is very important to carry on like that. We need momentum. Everything is going in the right way. We’re very pleased with our last two games so let’s carry on.”

Adam Peckitt: Much better 2nd half from @HullCity now to concentrate on staying up in the league.

Marty: Possibly the best performance Willian has put in for Chelsea, and I'd definitely play Ampadu against Barca, he was excellent once again, so calm on the ball!

  8. 'We gave a good account of ourselves'published at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Leicester 1-0 Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, speaking to BT Sport: "It’s all I can ask from the players, but it was a fantastic finish from Vardy. The team they picked was a powerful one, we gave a good account of ourselves, but we are disappointed.

"When the big moments come, to win a cup tie at a Premier League side you have to take the chances but we didn’t and we paid the biggest price.

"We have performed great all season, the consistency levels have been great. To not be overrun here gives us great heart, and we need a great run in the league, which that has to be our priority. All I ask is we always leave everything out there on the pitch, and we need to push on now."

  9. 'Important to stay united'published at 22:03 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Leicester 1-0 Sheffield United

Leicester boss Claude Puel on Riyad Mahrez, when asked if he has won over the fans: "The most important thing in the game was the fans supported Riyad and when I replaced him, it was a good feeling with the fans. It’s important to stay united about this, it’s a good thing and we can move on.

The situation is behind us, it’s important to look forward. Now we have two home games in the Premier League and it’s important to get the support of the fans. We need to come back in the Premier League with conviction."

On the FA Cup: "It’s a crucial competition for us, and also the Premier League. There are 11 Premier League games left, and we have the FA Cup, and we need to play all these games with conviction and desire."

  10. 'Now we carry on'published at 21:58 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Chelsea 4-0 Hull

Chelsea forward Willian: "It was a great game, not only by me but the whole team. The hat-trick was almost there, I tried, but the most important thing was the win.

"After a difficult moment we are back to winning games. When you are winning games the confidence goes high. Now we have to carry on."

  11. 'The important thing was to win'published at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Leicester 1-0 Sheffield United

Leicester boss Claude Puel: "Tough game against a good team. It was difficult to find space. For the first 30 minutes the tempo was too slow, but the second half was good for us.

"We had to concentrate late in the game and Kasper made a very good save. It would have been more comfortable with more than one goal, but the important thing was to win.”

Almost spoke too soon there re: Willian hat-trick!

The forward hits a shot hard and low from outside the box, the keeper is beaten but the ball smacks against the post and away.

Willian's not going to get his hat-trick, is he? He's dropped a bit deeper and is instead sprays balls around the pitch for the team-mates rather than trying to get into the area.

Hull make a change as Jackson Irvine is replaced by Daniel Batty.

Hull have bigger priorities elsewhere, namely staying in the Championship.

Quite surprised this game is still at 4-0 given how rampant Chelsea were in the first half.

Willian is still on the pitch and still has the chance to get his hat-trick. He produces some wonderful skill on the right to wriggle between a couple of Hull players.

They gave it all they could, United were depleted but gave everything and were more than good value. It just came down to that bit of extra quality from Vardy and Mahrez.
