West Brom could hand January loan signing Ali Gabr his debut against Southampton.

The Egypt defender, 29, has secured a work permit in time, but forward Daniel Sturridge is still out with a hamstring problem.

But I think we're all more interested whether Gareth Barry, Jonny Evans, Jake Livermore or Boaz Myhill will play...

Saints striker Manolo Gabbiadini could feature with Shane Long facing a late fitness test.

Midfielder Mario Lemina has recovered from dizzy spells and is fit.

Coventry are likely to be without Michael Doyle (knee) and Jack Grimmer (hamstring), with eight academy graduates set to be in their squad.

Jordan Maguire-Drew, on loan from Brighton, is ineligible and Kyel Reid is cup-tied for the League Two side.

No Fantasy Football teams for us to worry about this weekend - and I, for one, am glad. My team are performing so badly that my position is becoming untenable. The fans want me out.

Anyway... we'd usually have a quick look at the early team news on a Saturday morning to help shape our selections. Today we'll do it because you might fancy a flutter, or maybe because we're just anoraks.

    Let's start at Hilsborough...

The Baggies Bad Boys - Gareth Barry, Jonny Evans, Jake Livermore and Boaz Myhill - have apologised - after a taxi was stolen from outside a fast-food restaurant in Barcelona on Thursday.

The quartet were interviewed but not arrested by police after the incident, which happened in the early hours of the morning and is being investigated by the Premier League club.

Today Albion host Southampton in one of four fifth-round FA Cup matches.... will we see any of those four playing today?

Oh dear... Pards must be LIVID.

The last thing you need when you're cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League, have just sacked your chairman and chief executive, and are basically in a right royal mess, is four of your senior players getting into bother on what was a trip intended to save your season.

Maybe it will act as a catalyst. Hmmm.

"Chairman, I've got an idea. Can we take the lads to Barcelona? We can do some warm weather training, we can build team spirit. A bonding session. It'll help us dig ourselves out of this terrible mess we're in."

"OK Alan, sounds good. Just promise me one thing: you'll keep the lads in check. The last thing we need is any negative publicity. No drinking, no late nights, no daft antics."

"Don't worry. The lads are sensible - especially the older ones...."
