Their team may not be the best but you have to give praise to the West Brom fans.

They were noisy before the game, louder after Salomon Rondon's goal and after a brief break following Jamie Vardy's equaliser have made themselves heard again.

There is no disguising either, the spirit being shown by the home players, which is in stark contrast to the awful performance against Huddersfield on their last outing at the Hawthorns a couple of weeks ago.

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    West Brom 1-1 Leicester

Just one minute added on. A very watchable and entertaining half of football in the driving rain.

A couple of decent goals - particularly Jamie Vardy's strike - as well.

    West Brom 1-1 Leicester

Jamie Vardy is livid. He thinks he's got his second of the afternoon, only for the flag to go up. Ben Chilwell's pass is met by the England man and steered into the bottom corner. The flag is up right away and replays show that's quite right too. Clear daylight between Vardy and the last defender

Leicester have the upper hand now.

Kieran Gibbs makes a vital clearance from Ben Chilwell's high cross while shortly afterwards Shinji Okazaki brings a smart near-post save out of Ben Foster.

Jamie Vardy then has the ball in the net when he pokes home Chilwell's low cross into the box but the assistant referee had already raised his flag.

    West Brom 1-1 Leicester

Vardy just went and the ball from Mahrez is that good that Vardy doesn't need to look at the goal. He just watches the ball over his shoulder, strikes it cleanly and hits the back of the net.

  9. Postpublished at 30 mins

A bit of a coming together between Harry Maguire and Grzegorz Krychowiak which sees the latter sprawled on the turf.

The Polish midfielder is not best pleased and vents his frustration at both Maguire and the referee. No action taken by referee by Bobby Madley.

    Jamie Vardy (21 mins)

A superb equaliser from Jamie Vardy!

From inside the Leicester half, Riyad Mahrez lifts a ball over the top of the West Brom defence for Vardy to run on to and the England striker produces a finish of the highest quality.

Vardy anticipates the flight of the pass, evades the West Brom defenders, and is able to watch it come down over his shoulder before crisply volleying it low into the corner of the net.

    Superb technique.

  12. 'A great start'published at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

    West Brom 1-0 Leicester

It's a great start by West Brom. Salomon Rondon gets across his man because he knows the cross is going to come in. They've got to hang on of course, but that could be 24 points. Then they'd be three or four more points off it. The way things are going, who knows?

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 17 mins

    West Brom 1-0 Leicester

A brilliant tip on to the crossbar from Kasper Schmeichel.

Grzegorz Krychowiak's sweetly-struck effort from the edge of the box takes a deflection off a Leicester player but Denmark goalkeeper Schmeichel stretches and dives to get fingernails on it.

West Brom firmly on top here.

  14. CLOSE!published at 10 mins

    West Brom 1-0 Leicester

Leicester quickly look to get themselves back on level terms. Riyad Mahrez curls a high cross into the area in the direction of Jamie Vardy.

The England striker stretches his neck in a desperate attempt to his head on it but is unable to get a decisive touch.

At the other end the ball drops to Chris Brunt just outside the box, however he snatches at the shot and fires well wide of goal.

    Salomon Rondon (8 mins)

West Brom are given a let-off when Ben Foster clears the ball into Ahmed Hegazi and the ball almost rebounds back into the goal. The Baggies captain for the day is just about able to scamper back and recover it.

A key moment as barely a minute later Salomon Rondon opens the scoring for the home side. Oliver Burke's low cross picks out the Venezuela striker who pokes it past visiting Kasper Schmeichel.

West Brom v Leicester (GMT 15:00)

While there continues to be speculation over the future of Alan Pardew the consensus is almost universal about West Bromwich Albion's fate this season.

Eight points from safety with nine matches remaining, the Baggies somehow have to undergo an astonishing improvement if they are to avoid relegation.

Leicester, despite their indifferent results of late, have an excellent record at The Hawthorns.

Jamie Vardy scored in each of their three previous Premier League victoriesat West Brom, all of them winning goals, so he and Leicester will fancy their chances of inflicting another defeat on the Premier League's bottom side.
