What a start by Palace and Karius is yet to settle, as he plays a weak pass to put his defence in danger.
Moments before the goal, Liverpool almost scored from a corner, as Sadio Mane was close to directing in Virgil van Dijk's header but went just wide.

He rarely misses those.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
Yohan Cabaye lofts the ball into Wilfried Zaha's path.
The winger's first touch is good, but his second is with his hand. It's not spotted and Zaha shoots but his effort comes off Loris Karius's chest and out for a corner.
Would have been a contentious one if that had hit the back of the net.

Zaha is a talisman. Even if his goal return is not as impressive for someone so advanced up the pitch, he gets into great positions, really stretches the opposition and can frighten defenders.
You have to make plans for a player like that.

Seven games to go and Crystal Palace have safety in their own hands - and a fairly favourable looking run-in. That's quite an achievement given where they were seven games into the season, bottom without a point or even a goal. If Palace survive, it will be a feat to match just about anything in Roy Hodgson's long career.

Former Everton midfielder on Football Focus
Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman says he is surprised with Liverpool's team selection with a midweek tie against Manchester City in the Champions League awaiting.
"They are trying to secure a top-four finish and second in the league but it does surprise they’ve gone as strong as they have today with such a big game coming up.
“But they have done that every time they had a Champions League game so he has done it again.”
Here come the teams...

There’s a real sense of occasion here at Selhurst Park today – it’s a big game for both sides with issues at either end of the Premier League table.
And there’s personal connections as well – Roy Hodgson and Christian Benteke are just a couple in the home camp who will have points to prove against their former club.
Wilfried Zaha’s inclusion in the Palace starting line-up could be crucial for the home club – crowds were gathering early and a huge number greeted the Liverpool team as they arrived off the team bus.
In recent times this has proved an exciting fixture and it would be fitting for the two clubs to serve up another to mark Jurgen Klopp’s 100th league game in charge
Crystal Palace v Liverpool (12:30 BST)
Mohamed Salah leads the Premier League scoring tables with 28 goals, with Harry Kane second on 24.
They are both hoping to maybe surpass the 30-goal mark, a feat only achieved by six players since the league adopted a 38-game season in 1995-96.
The last player to do so was Liverpool's Luis Suarez in 2013-14, when the Uruguayan scored a record-equalling 31 goals, matching the 2007-08 tally of Cristiano Ronaldo and that of Alan Shearer in 1995-96.

With the home leg of their Champions League tie with Manchester City just around the corner, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp might be forgiven for having one eye on that challenge. There's no doubt that Anfield cast-offs Christian Benteke and Mamadou Sakho would be keen to take advantage if they do.

Ex-Liverpool defender at BBC Radio 5 live
Jurgen Klopp has brought belief to Liverpool fans. They enjoy going to the game, they enjoy watching his style of football. He's bought well and sold well. He's made big decisions like Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. The only thing he is missing is a trophy to show for the hard work he has put in.
