    AC Milan 0-1 Arsenal

Corner for Milan, which Leonardo Bonucci beats David Ospina to, but the Milan captain's glancing header is wide of the far post.

Not great keeping from Ospina there.

We are used to Spurs supporters slagging off Arsenal, it's called an inferiority complex. But it would be nice if some so-called Arsenal supporters would stop whinging and get behind the team. And show some respect for a manager who for years worked wonders without much to spend.

Going quite well for Arsenal. Just wish Danny Welbeck was playing. A great change for him to prove me wrong and show he can influence games.

Denham: Milan pretty poor up to now. They can´t keep the ball or put a move together and even making Arsenal look the better team... Mama Mia.

  3. Double chance for Arsenalpublished at 42 mins

    AC Milan 0-1 Arsenal

Danny Welbeck gets the ball to Callum Chambers - and his 20-yard shot is parried away by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Chambers has only ever scored four goals.

Now Welbeck should probably score, he's in on goal down the left but attempts to shoot across the keeper, who can get down low to save his effort.

    AC Milan 0-1 Arsenal

Callum Chambers' cross is just headed away by Leonardo Bonucci before Danny Welbeck can get his head onto it.

Arsenal do leave some gaps and David Ospina has to come off his line to stop Patrick Cutrone. No penalty scares this time, though.

Jon Spurling: Good lord, Arsenal are winning a football match. That hasn't happened in the postwar era, has it?

Paul Reaney: Am I the only person who wonders how Xhaka still gets a game for Arsenal. Woeful tackler, passer and offers little going forward. Bet he scores a hat-trick now tonight!

Zain Cruickshank: I mean we could still lose 5-1....

Free-kick to Milan, played in by Suso but headed behind by Granit Xhaka. Milan play the corner short and never really get it into the mixer.

Whilst I think Wenger's time is up now, he surely needs a lot more respect for what he has done for Arsenal and English football in general. People need to remember what Arsenal were like before he arrived, he turned them in to a side many neutrals wanted to watch and built a stadium we can be proud of for years to come. Other teams have had to up their game and the quality in the Premiership is down to that. I hope when he goes he gets the respect he deserves.

It's all a bit stop-start in Milan now. Laurent Koscielny fouls Patrick Cutrone, no real flow in the last five minutes.

So far, so good for Arsenal, who are certainly playing with a lot more belief than when I saw them at Brighton on Sunday.

They've also been helped by some sloppy passing from their hosts which has scuppered some of their more promising positions.

And all this with Arsenal in their blue kit as well - they've played in it eight times this season and not won once - one draw and seven defeats.

Still a long way to go here, of course, so let's not get carried away but it's definitely been better.

What a hit that is by Saul Niguez to put Atletico Madrid 1-0 up after 22 minutes against Lokomotiv Moscow.

Still goalless in the other two fixtures as we reach the 30-minute mark.

Do Arsenal players only remember how to play when Wenger is seemingly on his last legs?

    Fred, Devon

Anteneh Ademe: We're now at least in a league we belong.

Nick Uta: Love watching Italian sides play with non Italian referees. Their 'injuries' look even more ridiculous. It's like a whole other sport.

Suso's cross causes Arsenal problems and David Ospina punches clear under pressure from Patrick Cutrone. The ball breaks to Giacomo Bonaventura, whose 20-yard volley flies wide of the post.

Defender Shkodran Mustafi gets treatment as he was clattered by Ospina in that move.

Jack Wilshere finds a pocket of space in the box from Aaron Ramsey's pass but he dallies and can't get a shot or a pass away. They win a corner, but make nothing of the set-piece.

Great time for Kolasinac to play himself back into form with our player of the season currently in the treatment table. Those three number 10's are proving tricky to track!

    James, Colchester

Watching the game in a hotel bar in Morocco no one else seems interested and Gattuso looks like an Italian Ray Winstone and Arsenal actually look pretty good.

It's not that hard Arsenal right...

Milan break but Hakan Calhanoglu's failed backheel - when there was no need for it - ends their attack and Arsenal get away.

Seven of Henrikh Mkhitaryan's last nine goals have been scored in European fixtures (six in the Europa League and one in the Champions League). All bar today's have been for Manchester United.

    AC Milan 0-1 Arsenal

Milan right-back Davide Calabria is getting treatment again after he hurt himself while Henrikh Mkhitaryan nicked the ball off him.

Most of the play has been down that side, with Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac particularly active.

Pranav M: Bit of luck with the deflection, but we get an away goal.

Alex Corps: Well now. Arsenal with an away goal. Against Milan. If everyone could stop whinging and support their team that would be great.

David Thackeray: Not over by any means, but if we'd shown this much effort in the last few matches we wouldn't be where we are.
