Here's a bit of danger for Palace. Yohan Cabaye fouls Glenn Murray on the left corner of the box and now the visitors have an excellent chance for a cross or shot...

Excellent goalkeeping by Wayne Hennessey. He certainly has his critics but he comes off his line decisively to claim a free-kick near the penalty box.

He clutches the ball to his chest and releases any pressure.

Neil J Lawrence: Would be a great advert for the EPL if Brighton and Huddersfield could stay up - shows Championship teams can achieve sustainable top flight status without spending billions.

Loftus-Cheek has definitely been a powerful presence today. He has had 20 duels today, the most of any player an either side, and has won more than half of them.

Chris Hughton will be happy with his team's mentality and determination, but you can't take your eyes of Palace who are in control.

Loftus-Cheek in the middle at 6'3 is just holding off players, he's been a massive miss for Palace.

  6. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Crystal Palace 3-2 Brighton

It has been a quiet start to the second half after that crazy opening 45 minutes. Luka Milivojevic is continuing to impress in midfield, winning the ball back and spraying passes around.

I wonder if Palace will get nervous if the game stays this scoreline until the final stages. They've conceded so many late goals recently that things could get dicey later on.

Aleksander: The result in the early kick-off seem to have given Palace and Brighton a lot more freedom and less pressure, knowing they can pull away from the bottom three. A Saints win would have made for a nervous game.

Zaha's teammates are quite rightly impressed.

Entertaining, colourful, passionate. We couldn't have had much more action here. It's been a fascinating and inventive game, especially from Zaha who has teased and tantalised so far. The more attractive team has been Palace and they deserve the lead. There has been some poor defending from set plays and it has been a great game to watch.

Almost another right on half-time. Luka Milivojevic drives forward to the edge of the box where he takes a shot. It is deflected but Mat Ryan gets down well to save.

Dale Stephens is lucky to still be on the pitch. He's late with another cynical foul, this time on Joel Ward, as Palace break away.

Stephens is already on a yellow. Chris Hughton may have to take him off at the break.

They should make a Netflix series of football over the past week for us to look back on in 10 years' time. This first half has been as entertaining as anything we saw in Europe through the week. Palace are still trying to pick out Wilfried Zaha with every opportunity but the latest attempt sees the forward offside.

Wilfried Zaha has been irresistible so far this afternoon - his contribution not just the goals but the impact his attacking play has had on the Brighton defence. He’s just led them a merry dance with some amazing wizardry. No wonder the Palace team are so much stronger with their talisman in the side.

Izquierdo took that goal brilliantly. He opened his body out and played it into the far corner. They've had so few attacking opportunities but have found themselves with two goals. What a game!
