  3. Dry pitch 'not good for football playing side'published at 15:00 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    West Brom 2-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp speaking to Match of the Day about the dry pitch: "It's football. When you play football you need a normal pitch, when it gets drier it's not good for the football playing side.

"Each club can decide it like they want. If West Brom want to have more possession next year in the Championship I'm sure the pitch will be watered."

On Danny Ings' first goal in more than two years: "It's of course nice for Danny. He could have scored a second and could have had a penalty. It's a good step for Danny."

  5. 'Coming back against Liverpool is no mean feat'published at 14:55 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    West Brom 2-2 Liverpool

    West Bromwich Albion

Darren Moore speaking to Sky Sports: "I am delighted with everyone at the club, we've gone out there today and taken on a very good team and given it a right good go and come out with a deserved performance and results.

"We said 'where there is a will you will win it', we wanted to win the game. From being 2-0 down and coming back is no mean feat."

On West Brom's survival hopes: "I have said all along, I will only look to the game ahead. This game was a massive hurdle and to come out with a positive performance and a point, we will see what happens this weekend."

On Hegazi-Ings incident: "I was so wrapped up in the game, I have not seen the incident. I will go back in and sit with the guys and deal with it accordingly."

    Liverpool

Liverpool striker Danny Ings speaking to Match of the Day about his first Premier League goal in more than two years: "It's been a long time. I've had to climb a huge mountain to get into this position. But I would have sacrificed that for three points."

And on his clash with Ahmed Hegazi, he tells Sky Sports: "It was just a coming together. It is what English football is about. It's no big deal."

  8. 'One man doesn't make a team - but he can certainly help'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

Watford v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

    Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain on BBC Radio 5 live

Crystal Palace didn't have a great start to the season, and when you're missing the likes of Wilfried Zaha up front it can be difficult. Every game he hasn't played, they have lost. One man doesn't make a team but he certainly helps.

Under Roy Hodgson, Palace are playing some good football but they are vulnerable to set pieces.

A win for Roy Hodgson's team today and surely he'll have a place in Palace folklore. He's nearly turned a dismal start into survival, and with time to spare.

  10. 'They can do it next year playing on a dry pitch in the Championship'published at 14:45 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    West Brom 2-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp to Sky Sports: "We controlled it pretty well, their only opportunity was with set pieces, the rest we defended really well.

"The whole game was a plot on the goalkeeper, everyone loves it in this country, but it makes life difficult for the goalie.

"It was a difficult game as the pitch got drier and drier. West Brom decided not to water the pitch at half-time and that makes it difficult.

"It makes a massive difference. A team like West Brom do not need a wet pitch, they can do it next year playing on a dry pitch in the Championship."

On Ings-Hegazi incident: "The analyst showed it to me, I don't have to say anything about that, I don't know why he did it, there is no reason."

On Ings' penalty shout: "People laugh at Ings when he goes down, but I don't know anyone who doesn't go down in that situation. We need the the right decisions, everything would be fine and we win 3-0 or 3-1.

On Ings' goal: "I am very happy, but he should have scored a second. I do not want to talk about positive thing, give me a night to sleep on it.

On whether he is happy about the team ahead of Tuesday's Champions League semi: "In the moment no, but on Tuesday yes."

Former West Ham and England defender on Final Score

That was a great point against Liverpool today but I think it has all come a bit too late for West Brom.

Finishing strongly and performing well is so important for yourself as players and for your fans and the manager. The West Brom players look like they have a real will to do well for Darren Moore.

  13. 'We had started to gain belief'published at 14:37 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    West Brom 2-2 Liverpool

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore has spoken to Sky Sports and despite the comeback, he cut a despondent figure.

"It's a shame really. We've started to gain that belief and confidence. All we can do is keep fighting for each other, the fans and staff.

"We can agree it's not for the want of trying but the rub of the green hasn't quite happened when last season maybe it did.

"If any of us knew what has gone wrong we'd have changed it 10 games ago. We've thrown away points from leading positions and it seems to have gone that way this season."

  14. 'Another spring slump for Watford'published at 14:35 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

Watford v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

    Simon Brotherton
    Match of the Day commentator

Last week's vital win over Brighton leaves Crystal Palace with a five-point cushion above the trap door as they head to Vicarage Road to face slumping opponents who've managed only one point from the last five league games.

The last meeting between the teams in December ended with Palace climbing out of the relegation zone for the first time all season following a dramatic late turnaround and stoppage-time winner.

They'll have high hopes of getting something here too, with Watford in the depths of another spring slump, just like last year, and on a pitch where Palace have managed three wins and three draws in their last half dozen visits.

  15. Safe? Not yet...published at 14:30 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

Watford v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

Watford are up in 12th but they're not safe yet - and their form isn't convincing.

The Hornets haven't won since 3 March - when they beat West Brom - and have claimed only one point from the last 15 on offer, conceding 15 goals in the process.

Crystal Palace have a decent record at Vicarage Road. They are unbeaten in their last six games there, and have lost just once in the past 12 league visits.

  18. 'Two points dropped by Liverpool'published at 14:25 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    West Brom 2-2 Liverpool

    Jimmy Carter
Former Liverpool winger on BBC Radio Merseyside

You have to credit West Brom for coming back because the game looked finished when Mo Salah scored the second goal. It will go down as two points dropped by Liverpool but Darren Moore will be absolutely delighted with the spirit his side have shown on home soil.

Dave: West Brom showing more fight in two games under Moore than they did in the whole of Pardew's reign.

Jack: That goal came from a mistake by Gomez. Lazy play trying to flick it around the West Brom player.

Amrul: Karius showing why Liverpool will struggle next season unless they bring a world class replacement.

  20. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    West Brom 2-2 Liverpool

If Swansea win tomorrow against Manchester City and Crystal Palace avoid defeat against Watford today, then West Brom's relegation will be confirmed.

There are certainly mixed emotions around the Hawthorns. The players are being given a big, big reception by the fans but it's hard to celebrate wildly.

It's very much a case of too little, too late.
