  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 69 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

Our first yellow of the match goes to Liverpool's Alberto Moreno, who makes a clumsy tackle on Matt Phillips wide on the right.

Phillips takes the resulting free-kick, it bobbles about the box and is then cleared.

  2. Postpublished at 68 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

James McClean tries an inswinger from the left but once again it misses a navy shirt.

West Brom aren't a bad side at all, but they just don't have the x-factor.

Their team as a whole have scored fewer goals than Mo Salah this season.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain replace Sadio Mane and goalscorer Danny Ings.

Huzzy: Okay so, a stonewall penalty, and Ings gets punched in the stomach... Is this referee watching or did he have a late night??

Paul: Hope the FA take a look at Hegazi after that. Clearly just punched Ings in the chest.

Nick: Just a clear penalty and a clear red card missed by Attwell so far. Is it any wonder VAR has so much traction these days when Premier League referees are so inept.

  7. Postpublished at 61 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

From that Liverpool break, West Brom recover in an organised fashion.

Danny Ings and Mo Salah attempt a dainty link up but Ben Foster is able to grab the ball with ease.

  8. Postpublished at 59 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

Another run into the box from Matt Phillips.

He gets past Alberto Moreno, Jordan Henderson and he tries to square to Jay Rodriguez but it's not good enough.

Phillips has his head in the side-netting in frustration.

    Now Liverpool charge forward...

  9. 'He was definitely punched'published at 13:43 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

    Jimmy Carter
Former Liverpool winger on BBC Radio Merseyside

Ings was definitely punched. Hegazi has got away with that on the pitch but I think if the governing bodies have a look at that, they will take action.

Ings was going about his business honestly and Hegazi takes it upon himself to punch him in the ribs.

  10. Postpublished at 56 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

Now it's Danny Ings vs referee Stuart Attwell.

Ings is pulled up for colliding with Ahmed Hegazi, and the Egyptian gives the Liverpool goalscorer a tap on the chest as he gets up.

Was it a tap or was it a punch? It was somewhere in between. Ings is livid and Attwell has to tell him to calm down.

From the resulting free kick, Hegazi has a go at goal with a header but he can't get it on target.

  11. Postpublished at 52 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

Craig Dawson comes to the rescue for the hosts and heads away James Milner's cross which was heading for Danny Ings.

Ben Foster pummels the ball down field and it's heading straight for Salomon Rondon.

There's a big mix-up between Ragnar Klavan and Loris Karius - as in Klavan just leaves it for the keeper in a dangerous area - but they manage to sort themselves out and avert any real danger.

Bob: Why didn't West Brom play like this all season? Too little too late for them.

  13. Postpublished at 49 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

Matt Phillips is showing so much endeavor on the flanks for West Brom but there's just no one there to stick it away in the box.

Jay Rodriguez doesn't have the height or control to poke in Phillips' latest cross.

  14. Postpublished at 47 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

Sadio Mane gives the ball away in the middle of the field but his team-mates are on hand to scramble it away from the feet of Jay Rodriguez.

As Liverpool push into the box, Danny Ings is bundled over by Craig Dawson.

There are shouts for a penalty...but it's a no from referee Stuart Attwell. That was a bit dicey from Dawson...

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 45 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

The teams are back out and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is having a long-winded chat with officials on the sideline about something.

His West Brom counterpart, meanwhile, stands in his box and looks pensive.

It's the Baggies who get us back under way.

    West Brom 0-1 Liverpool

    Jimmy Carter
Former Liverpool winger on BBC Radio Merseyside

That was a good half for Liverpool who could have doubled their lead through Danny Ings.

West Brom huffed and puffed and had a couple of chances, one in particular with Jay Rodriguez, who just needed the slightest of touches to level the scores.

Liverpool are in control but West Brom are still in it and they will want to give their supporters something to cheer about in the second half.
