Tekkers! Nathan Ake pulls out a magic trick in the Saints box, turning neatly away from his marker to see the goal gaping in front of him. He pokes goalwards and Alex McCarthy instinctively sticks out a leg to clear.

But the danger isn't clear yet. Bournemouth have a corner...

Can Saints keep it tight until the break? Mark Hughes is barking out the instructions on the sideline to try and ensure they do.

Almost two! Well, I say almost... it was a chance. Charlie Austin beats the offside trap when Ryan Bertrand sends the ball back into the box after Bournemouth's Nathan Ake's partially heads clear.

Austin's first touch is heavy, he then tries to round Asmir Begovic and goes down when the keeper outmuscles him.

Ref Anthony Taylor is not impressed and waves him to his feet.

Saints back on the attack and they earn a corner...

Saints' defence stands firm without Hoedt, partially clearing to Ryan Fraser who shanks a volley wide.

Thankfully Hoedt is back on his feet and looks fit to continue. However, he will have to wait on the sideline as Saints defend an attacking Bournemouth throw...

There is a lengthy stoppage as Hoedt gets some medical attention. The Saints staff are delicately moving him and making sure his neck is not damaged too seriously.

Ouch. The perils of being a defender. Saints centre-back Wesley Hoedt does well to get across quickly and cut out a long ball before Callum Wilson gets there, but goes over awkwardly and seems to hurt his neck on landing.

This one isn't in the stands! Mario Lemina has another pop within seconds of his last effort, showing wonderful technique with a half volley that Asmir Begovic has to spring to his left and punch clear.

Another minute, another Saints attack. This time Mario Lemina fancies his chances from 20 yards, curling towards the top right corner. But it is too high, too wide and lands in Row H.

Southampton are flying now. Charlie Austin has a pop from an acute angle on the right, trying to catch out Asmir Begovic by shaping up to cross and then pinging a shot at the near post.

The Cherries keeper is too long in the tooth to be done over by that one though.

Brilliant finish from Dusan Tadic, and he has so much time to think about it too. Knowing what it means, too, what a cool finish that is. But really poor from Bournemouth to lose a goal from their own corner.

Dusan Tadic looks Southampton's best bet of unlocking the Bournemouth defence. His cross looks for Charlie Austin but he is outnumbered and the visitors clear.
