Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe: "We've picked an attacking team today and Lys Mousset deserves his start - he's done very well when called upon. "The table can change in a blink of an eye so we have to be focused."

    Southampton v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

Bournemouth have not played for 10 days after a blank weekend, meaning they go with the bulk of the side which started the 2-0 home defeat by Manchester United.

French forward Lys Mousset and midfielder Dan Gosling start ahead of Jordon Ibe and Andrew Surman, who drop down to the bench.

Defender Tyrone Mings returns to the matchday squad for the first time since September following a back injury.

Bournemouth's players are hoping to make a bit of history today: they could become the first Cherries side to win at their South Coast rivals.

Southampton showed a few signs of encouragement for their supporters despite losing to Chelsea in last weekend's FA Cup semi-final.

So Mark Hughes has opted to go with the majority of the same team for what he has labelled a "must-win match".

Two changes see attacking pair Dusan Tadic and Nathan Redmond start in place of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Shane Long.

Mark Hughes has managed almost 600 games at club and international level - but says this is "arguably" the biggest one yet.

Saints can't be relegated whatever happens today, but a defeat will leave them climbing a heck of a mountain.

"You guys (the media) use 'must win' too soon, but I agree with you. It's black and white. We need to win the game," said Hughes.

"That's what we have to do if we want to make the games after this significant. We need three points."

Not the start that Mark Hughes envisaged on his Southampton return.

Saints have failed to win any of their four Premier League games since Hughes replaced Mauricio Pellegrino last month, slipping into the bottom three and now four points adrift of safety.

To make matters worse, Stoke have just earned an unlikely point at Liverpool to move above them into 18th place...

Ah, the new manager bounce. Teams in a bit of lull, down on their luck, or - quite frankly - a bit rubbish can be galvanised by a different face barking orders at them on the training ground.

Fresh ideas, fresh impetus. Unfortunately for Southampton and Mark Hughes that hasn't quite happened...
