Who can go up/down this weekend?

Barnet, who host Newport County today, will be relegated if they lose and if Forest Green avoid defeat and Grimsby win.

If Barnet were to draw, they would also be relegated if Forest Green & Grimsby both win plus Morecambe avoid defeat.

But a victory could give the 23rd-placed Bees real hope of survival, with two further rounds of matches to come.

Macclesfield were relegated to National League in April 2012 after a 12-year stay in the Football League.

The Silkmen have been top of the table since 9 December and rarely looked like relinquishing their hold of the division.

Aldershot closed to within a point of them on 27 January, but a sequence of just one defeat in their subsequent 13 games has seen them pull away from the rest of the league.

John Askey's side will now be able to celebrate their title win in front of their home fans when they host Dagenham in the final game of the season next week.

Bristol City's form has dipped badly at the worst possible time of the season recently, but despite being down in 11th, they could yet still make the top six, were they to win all their remaining games.

Robins left-back Joe Bryan admits they have been "frustrated" with their season, which had looked so promising when they beat Manchester United in the EFL Cup back in December.

Today they host Hull City knowing that only a win will do.

If Birmingham City want to avoid being in a relegation scrap on the final day of the season for the third time since 2014, they surely need to win today.

The Blues are perilously just two points above the relegation zone ahead of hosting play-off chasing Sheffield United.

The Blades, in ninth, are only three points behind sixth-placed Millwall. It's yet another huge game at 15:00 BST.

With victory at Eastleigh in today's lunchtime kick-off in the National League, Macclesfield have just clinched the title and with it automatic promotion back to League Two.

The Silkmen are celebrating wildly with their fans at full-time, having just guaranteed their six-year absence from the English Football League will end this summer. They can no longer be caught by second-placed Tranmere.

Some of their fans stream on the pitch at Eastleigh. The joy is unbridled!

See you in the EFL next season, Macclesfield!

  9. A heck of a game for Barnsleypublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    Leeds v Barnsley (15:00 BST)

When these two sides met in the reverse fixture, Paul Heckingbottom was in charge of Barnsley.

Today he's in the Leeds dugout, taking on his former club, with the Tykes needing a win to try and move out of the relegation zone.

For them to do so, however, would require one or both of Bolton and Birmingham to do no better than draw against Wolves and Sheffield United respectively.

Wolves have already celebrated securing a return to the Premier League, but today they could clinch the Championship title too.

A point away at Bolton would seal the job for Nuno Espirito Santo's men, but Bolton will be scrapping for their own survival.

The hosts start the day just two points above the drop zone, but in the knowledge that 22nd-placed Barnsley have a game in hand.

  11. The play-off racepublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    Derby v Middlesbrough (15:00 BST)

If you're looking for a match that might go a long way to decide which sides will reach the Championship play-offs this season, look no further.

Derby, in seventh, host fifth-placed Middlesbrough this afternoon, with just one point separating the two sides.

The Rams also have a game in hand on Boro - at home to Cardiff on Tuesday - and the race for the top six is surely going to the wire, but they'll both be feeling the pressure today, especially knowing there are still five others sides who have hopes of pipping them to one of the final two play-off spots as well.

From 15:00 BST, one of our focus games will be Sunderland v Burton, as the bottom two sides in the Championship both bid for a great escape.

With three games remaining, Sunderland start the day six points adrift of safety, while Burton are only one point better off.

Black Cats boss Chris Coleman has described the game as their "last chance to avoid the drop".

  13. RECAP: Superb Fulham win at Millwallpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    Friday's EFL action

Last night Fulham produced a devastating second-half display to win at in-form Millwall and move back up to second in the Championship.

The result ended Millwall's 17-game unbeaten league run to dent the Lions' play-off bid, while Fulham went two points above rivals Cardiff, who have two games in hand.

You can read the full match report on that game at The Den here.

Meanwhile, Coventry moved up a place to sixth in League Two thanks to a comfortable 3-1 win over Stevenage.
