Instant control of a Derby clearance, followed by an unbelievable right foot volley of imperious quality from fully 30 yards which dipped just under the helpless Scott Carson's bar.

It even had hardened hacks in the press box applauding . . . And Molineux is still murmuring with content!

Molineux's not calmed down after that beast of a strike from Ruben Neves. Derby look in shock but they're pressing on.

This is sure to be an interesting opening 10 minutes or so to this second half.

As we have a half-time break, a reminder that as it stands, Wolves need two points to mathematically seal promotion back to the top flight after a six-year absence.

Their next game? Against Birmingham City on Sunday and at Molineux.

Then, to add insult to injury, Diogo Jota turns to win the ball back with a lovely piece of skill.

Derby win a free-kick just outside the box but Tom Lawrence, who's scored in the Rams' last two games, fires it straight into the wall and Wolves regain possession.

Cheers from the home crowd follow. If it stays like this, they are just two points away from a return to the Premier League.

In the evening's other EFL match, Walsall have just gone ahead at Oldham through Jack Fitzwater.

A win for the Saddlers could all but secure their League One safety.

Oldham would remain deep in the relegation mire with defeat.

With the start of a new cricket season just two days away, it's a reminder of just pleasant it can often be watching football matches on warm mid-April evenings.

Regrettably, tonight at Molineux is not one of them. Its's cold, wet, dank and misty, especially so after the pre-match fireworks.

But that is not stopping the buoyant South Bank in their torrent of songs, especially after the impudent sixth-minute finish from Diogo Jota which has edged Wolves even closer to a return to the Premier League. Hopefully, it will put a smile on Nuno's face later!

His face may not say it, but this man will be feeling pretty content right about now.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have absolutely bossed this first half.
