    France 1-0 Colombia

With that goal Olivier Giroud moved level with Jean-Pierre Papin and Just Fontaine as the joint fifth top scorer for France on 30 goals. Fontaine scored 13 in six games at the 1958 World Cup finals in Sweden.

Giroud is also one behind Zinedine Zidane.

    Exalted company indeed.

Just another 21 needed to catch Thierry Henry on 51 mind.

    Thomas Muller (35 mins)

That is delicious. Not exactly textbook Thomas Muller as he scores from 25 yards out.

Toni Kroos finds Sami Khedira, who passes it to Muller and the Bayern Munich forward, usually a fox in the box, curls an effort into the top corner.

  7. Postpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2018

    Germany 0-1 Spain

Spain are playing really well here, David Silva wins the ball, plays a one-two with Isco, then finds Andres Iniesta. Then he picks out Rodrigo.

They are looking more 2010 World Cup, and less 2014.

  8. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2018

    Germany 0-1 Spain

Excellent play by 33-year-old Spain maestro Andres Iniesta as he takes on half the Germany team before finding Rodrigo, but the striker is shepharded well by the German defence.

Now more flicks by Iniesta - and then suddenly he has the ball in the box but can't get a shot away. The fans are loving this.

    Germany 0-1 Spain

An excellent through ball finds Timo Werner, who shoots across David de Gea's goal but it goes wide of the far post... and then he was flagged offside anyway.
