    Derby 0-1 Cardiff

Oof that did not look good. Tom Huddlestone almost takes the head off Callum Paterson as the Derby man tries to get a foot onto an inswinging delivery into the box.

Paterson is hard as nails and gets up sharpish and shakes it off.

    Shrewsbury 0-1 Peterborough

While Plymouth could be dropping points tonight, their play-off rivals Peterborough are taking full advantage as it stands.

The Posh still lead at Shrewsbury, which - just to remind you - is sending second-placed Blackburn up this evening.

    Derby 0-1 Cardiff

Sol Bamba suffers a bloody nose and is ordered to change his shirt but his new one doesn't have a name and number on the back.

Nothing like a fresh out of the club shop look, eh? Half an hour remains and the tempo might have calmed down, but you can't say the same for the atmosphere as the rain pelts down at Pride Park.

    Oldham 0-3 Southend

With Rochdale's equaliser, Oldham are down to 21st in the table as things stand, below the safety line.

And, by the way, one more goal for Rochdale would send MK Dons down tonight, with the Dons still trailing at Bradford by a single goal to nil.

    Nottm Forest 2-0 Barnsley

Adam Jackson receives a yellow card for bringing down Ben Brereton and concedes a free-kick to Nottingham Forest right on the edge of the Barnsley box.

It's deflected away after clipping the wall but Forest remain on top at the City Ground.

  6. goal

GOAL: Rochdale 1-1 Plymouthpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

    Ryan Delaney (55 mins)

But Rochdale are level almost immediately! Ryan Delaney's header lifts Rochdale back out of the bottom four as things stand.

Meanwhile, Oldham are now 3-0 down at home to Southend.

    Derby 0-1 Cardiff

Bruno Manga goes into the book for bringing down Richard Keogh on the edge of the Cardiff City box.

However, Tom Lawrence fires the free-kick that follows into the thigh of Aron Gunnarsson.

  8. goal

GOAL: Rochdale 0-1 Plymouthpublished at 20:58 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

    Joel Grant (54 mins)

Just as Oldham go two goals down at home to Southend, Rochdale fall behind as well.

Joel Grant gives play-off chasing Plymouth the lead at Spotland.

So all the relegation-threatened sides involved in League One tonight - MK Dons, Oldham and Rochdale - all each losing.

Sol Bamba is judged to have handled the ball and Derby win a free-kick 40 yards out, to which cheers ring around the ground.

Tom Huddlestone fires it into the box but Cardiff do a fine job of marking all of the Rams' forward line and it sails out for a goal kick.

    Rochdale 0-0 Plymouth

At Spotland, where it remains goalless, Rochdale are having a decent spell.

And while a draw would lift Rochdale out of the relegation zone as it stands, seventh-placed Plymouth could do without dropping points. A draw could damage their play-off bid.

    Derby 0-1 Cardiff

Both sets of fans are in fine voice at Pride Park but there's been a lack of chances at either end so far in the second half.

In fact so far, the biggest highlight of the opening three minutes have been the ball hitting the corner flag.

The whistles are ringing and the second half is back under way across the English Football League.

  13. Some players 'want away' from Sunderlandpublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

On a night that a couple of English Football League clubs are battling against relegation, we've been hearing from the chief executive of one who lost that fight on Saturday.

Sunderland's relegation was confirmed with their 2-1 home defeat by Burton - meaning they will play in League One next year having only come down from the Premier League 12 months ago.

The situation at the Stadium of Light isn't an enviable one, with chief executive Martin Bain telling BBC Newcastle that some want-away players are "consuming vast amounts" of the club's budget.

Away from the Ricoh, here are the other latest scores from League Two.

And Accrington are going to have to wait to clinch the title unless they can battle back at Newport.

    • Newport 1-0 Accrington

    HT: Nottm Forest 2-0 Barnsley

A quick update from the City Ground as Nottingham Forest left-back Juan Rafael Fuentes has been stretchered from the field at the break following a challenge from Dimitri Cavare.

Meanwhile, it's been a crazy first half at Coventry, with five goals scored and three of them going to the visitors Lincoln.

Ollie Palmer has a brace for the away side, who have taken the lead three times so far.

This scoreline would really boost the Imps' play-hopes, keeping them fifth but moving them three points above sixth-placed Coventry.

Both sides can still - in theory - claim an automatic promotion spot as well. Are there more goals to come?

  17. League One half-time headlinespublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

Here are the scores as they stand:

    • Bradford 1-0 MK Dons
    • Bristol Rovers 1-0 Wigan
    • Doncaster 0-0 Blackburn
    • Oldham 0-1 Southend

    • Shrewsbury 0-1 Peterborough
  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

    Nottm Forest 2-0 Barnsley

It's fair to say Nottingham Forest have guided their way to half-time at a canter and Barnsley will have their work cut out when they come out for the second half.

The Tykes could leapfrog Bolton and exit the Championship relegation places with a win, but three goals stand between them. At the minute, that does not look likely.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

    Derby 0-1 Cardiff

    Neil WarnockImage source, Rex Features

All over in the first half at Pride Park and Cardiff will be the happier side.

Callum Paterson's strike separates the sides but Derby aren't out of this just yet. A big second half to come.

  20. Postpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 24 April 2018

    Shrewsbury 0-1 Peterborough

And with Shrewsbury still trailing at home to Peterborough, as half-time approaches, Blackburn are going up tonight as it stands.

Even if Blackburn don't beat Doncaster tonight, they simply need to match the Shrews' result to seal a return to the Championship.
