    So, it is ultimately disappointment for both English sides in the Women's Champions League, with Manchester City Women and Chelsea Ladies exiting the competition.

    City lost 1-0 on aggregate to four-times winners Lyon earlier today, with Chelsea going out 5-1 on aggregate to Wolfsburg.

    The two clubs are vying for the Women's Super League One title, but England's wait for a first finalist since Arsenal lifted the trophy in 2007 goes on.

    Goals from Pernille Harder and and Ewa Pajor give the German side a 2-0 win on the day and a 5-1 victory on aggregate.

    They will face French side Lyon in the final in Kiev next month.

    It is the third consecutive season that Wolfsburg have knocked Chelsea out of Europe.
