Having said that, Switzerland are sixth in the world rankings. Maybe they can feel aggrieved not to be seeded.

That could be a huge point for the Swiss. They may not have planned on taking anything off Brazil. They will have a little advantage when they meet Serbia in a game that you think might decide who joins Brazil in the next round.

All the talk before the game was about Brazil, but there was another team here tonight. Credit to Switzerland, they dug deep.

Brazil were deservedly in front after the first half but the Swiss responded well and I think they were good value for a point. You cannot underestimate any side in this competition.

None of Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina or Germany have won their opening match at this World Cup.

Brazil denied. Switzerland have a precious point.
