    Sweden 0-0 South Korea

It's quite fragmented at the moment. Roughly a foul every 90 seconds or so by my count.

    But here come South Korea...

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12 mins

    Sweden 0-0 South Korea

What was I saying about Kim Shin-wook. Abrasive is not the word. And he gets a yellow card for a heavy challenge on Albin Rekdal.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is spending his last day at the World Cup with Russia Today.

His view on this game is fairly straightforward.

He said: "I don’t believe Germany will lose another match, so this is a must-win for both sides. I wouldn't be surprised if South Korea win."

Korea are trying to build for the back. Kim Shin-wook, we've already see a long diagonal to him, an aerial threat. We might see more of that.

    Sweden 0-0 South Korea

Kim Shin-wook already looks a real handful. He's physical, tall (about 6'5) and is already causing Sweden one or two problems.

  6. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Sweden 0-0 South Korea

It looks as though we've sold you a dummy with our team news as far as South Korea are concerned.

Or is it just that wily coach Shin Tae-yong has outfoxed us all. Either way it appears as though they are playing a 4-3-3, as opposed to the 4-4-2 we were expecting.

    A must win game?published at 13:00 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

Sweden v South Korea (13:00 BST)

The noises come out of both camps suggest that this is a must win game and when you look at Group F you can understand why.

Germany, the reigning world champions, and Mexico, who have never failed to get out of the group stage at a World Cup await both sides - making getting three points on the board, almost imperative.

Especially after yesterday. Could Sweden or South Korea upset the apple cart and qualify? Maybe.

Not long until kick-off now - I might have to start my own, which in my case means grabbing a drink!

Tottenham's Son Heung-min is the main man for South Korea these days but I for one am really looking forward to seeing Hwang Hee-chan in action.

The RB Salzburg striker will need broad shoulders to carry some of the attacking burden from his colleague mind!

  15. Stellar or solid?published at 12:39 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

Sweden v South Korea (13:00 BST)

Henrik Larsson & Pontus FarnerudImage source, Getty Images

The days of Henrik Larsson, Fredrik Ljungberg and of course the Lion, I mean Zlatan Ibrahimovic, are long gone. There's not even a Pontus Farnerud around, a stellar performer on Championship Manager back in the day.

This time Emil Forsberg is the star turn but after a difficult season at RB Leipzig.

And then there's main forward Marcus Berg, who's scored a buketload of goals for current club Al Ain in the UAE and at former employers Panathinaikos.

BUT and it's a big BUT he struggled in more testing environments with PSV and Hamburg prior to that.

It's not often that the build-up to a World Cup game plays out like a chapter from a John le Carre spy novel. But there's been a little bit of devilment over this one.

South Korea's coach Shin Tae-yong claimed he made his players wear different numbered shirts in recent friendlies to confuse opponents.

And the antics don't end there, with Sweden's head coach, Janne Andersson, having to defend accusations that one of his scouts covertly watched the Koreans prepare at a training camp in Austria.

Standby for some interesting scenes when South Korea's national anthem is played before the game today.

Three of their players - defenders Hong Chul, Kim Min-woo and midfielder Ju Se-jong - will have to salute the Taegukgi flag when their anthem blares out as they are all on military service.

A player must carry out the compulsory duty before the age of 28 unless they have achieved success with the national team.

Se-jong, 27, is spending 2018 and 2019 on loan from FC Seoul at second-division national police side Asan Mugunghwa whilst he is carrying out mandatory national service.

Min-woo, 28, and Chul, 27, are both on loan at army-associated side Sangju Sangmu from Suwon Bluewings.

Paul: Easiest way to pass the time in the build up to the game? A 7 hour Drive from Boston to Kingston, Ontario. The game will provide a nice break in the middle to stop and recharge!

Luke: Checked the time at 12.00 and it was 9.30. Work time is going in reverse.

  19. Toothless Sweden?published at 12:23 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

Since upsetting Italy in November’s play-offs, Sweden have scored once in four games and go into this afternoon's game without a goal in more than five hours of play.

They lost 2-1 at home to Chile and 1-0 in Romania in March and recently played out a goalless draws at home against fellow World Cup finalists Denmark and Peru.

On a more promising note they did manage to bag in all but one of their 10 qualifiers to finish behind France and ahead of the Netherlands.

    More of the same please.

I'll be revising for my A-Levels until the match, but it's hard to concentrate when all you can think about is Kieran Trippier's mouthwatering crosses into the box...

    Dom Smith

I don't envy you Dom but best of luck with that. I must admit I'd not considered the England armoury being bouyed by Trippier's curling right foot deliveries....
