Tom Lawrence has excelled tonight. The Wales international has been tireless and threatening in equal measure and the crowd have sensed it.

Only some great defending by Denis Odoi prevents a second home goal a little while ago after another superb Lawrence run down the right touchline.

Andreas Weimann is shown the tie's first yellow card for dissent, as Fulham win a corner, but Derby clear once again.

Now it's Fulham's turn to make two changes, as Neeskens Kebano and Lucas Piazon replace Ryan Sessegnon and Floyd Ayite, neither of whom have had a particularly big impact tonight, with Derby being so compact.

Another excellent cross from Tom Lawrence curls in to the Fulham area dangerously but Denis Odoi does well to head it clear for Fulham.

Derby's corner leads only to a Fulham free-kick for some tussling in the box.

Moments later though, Tom Lawrence's fizzing cross almost finds the head of Ikechi Anya, but he can't quite reach it.

Ikechi Anya's first contribution since coming on is to win Derby a corner, against the run of play.

It looks like Derby have reverted to four at the back now.

Meanwhile, Fulham are almost in for an equaliser, but Aleksandar Mitrovic can't get the ball out from under his feet in the area.

Matej Vydra and Cameron Jerome both go off for the Rams, perhaps with an eye on Monday's second leg and keeping legs fresh up front.

On come Ikechi Anya and David Nugent.

In case you weren't with me earlier, here's the goal that separates the two teams - Cameron Jerome's first-half header that left Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli absolutely no chance.

Fulham are playing some very neat, intricate football now, and look dangerous. It's their best spell of the game.

Fulham's Tom Cairney rifles a shot at goal with his sweet left foot, but Scott Carson palms it away with a very decent save.

Fulham keeper Marcus Bettinelli has hearts in Fulham mouths for a moment, as he comes more than 40 yards out of his goal to meet a long ball.

He just about makes the touch, and clears, with Cameron Jerome having been lurking behind him. Fulham fans breathe a sigh of relief.

Derby centre-back Curtis Davies - who has played in these kind of play-off games so many times before in his long career - is having a super, super game.

He puts in another fine tackle to halt Aleksandar Mitrovic. The two of them are having quite an interesting tussle out there tonight.

One thing is for certain - Fulham won't be panicking about a 1-0 deficit, either during this game or for Monday's second leg.

They are straight back to their tried-and-trusted system, keeping possession and patiently probing. And that shows just why. So unlucky for Kevin McDonald, who stroked his first-time shot against the bar.

Floyd Ayite really should have done better with that volley just after too.

The Rams fans have suddenly gone quiet.

Are Derby settling for a 1-0? How ambitious are they feeling? It looks like they are happy to play breakaway football at the moment. It's very dangerous to sit back against Fulham.

Suddenly, it's become end-to-end stuff.

At the other end, Andreas Weimann dinks a shot over the bar after racing in to the Fulham penalty area. It just didn't quite fall in to his stride.

Two chances for Fulham in less than two minutes. Floyd Ayite races on to Stefan Johansen's great ball, but volleys just over the bar when clean through on goal.

Fulham go so, so close to an equaliser! Aleksandar Mitrovic lays the ball off for Kevin McDonald, but McDonald's placed shot from range smacks the crossbar.

I think Scott Carson might have been beaten.

Gary Rowett will be very content so far. His Derby side lost 2-1 at home to Fulham in March, but they're having a much better night so far tonight.

Bradley Johnson is penalised for a high foot on Tom Cairney and Fulham have a free-kick in a central position, around 35 yards out.

The play it out to the right wing, but Stefan Johansen's cross is too deep.

Moments later, Ryan Sessegnon blazes high and wide of the target from the edge of the D with his weaker right peg.
