On the balance of play they deserve it - Scunthorpe were the better side early on but it's been all Rotherham for the last 20 minutes or so.

Almost another Rotherham goal as Matty Palmer's shot from distance stings the hands of Scunny's young goalkeeper and the defence clears.

Two minutes of stoppage time here - enough for either side to conjure up a goal?

So close again for Rotherham. Lovely ball in and Joe Mattock was unmarked at the far post but headed it wide across the face of goal. It should be 1-0 to the Millers.

Duane Holmes is back on the field. He doesn't look too happy but I'm sure he'll run it off.

Duane Holmes looks like being the danger man for Scunthorpe here. He's got really quick feet in behind the striker and is drawing a couple of midfielders to him every time he has the ball on the deck.

As I write that he goes down after a tackle - it looks like a knock on the knee. That would be bad news for Scunthorpe if he's hurt.

Rotherham can't convert the resulting corners, Michael Smith heading over from the second of the two corners they won following Watson's save.

So close! Rotherham's Richie Towell curls it towards the top corner from the edge of the box, but Rory Watson at full stretch tips it around the post.

Rotherham have really come back into this in the last 10 minutes or so, having tested the goalkeeper and had a lot more of the territorial advantage.

This tie is really delicately balanced at the moment.

Scunthorpe's Duane Holmes gives away a silly free-kick midway inside his own half by the right touchline.

A decent chance for Rotherham to swing it in from here...

... But Rory Watson does well and punches it away before gathering the second ball in easily.

Rothehram are starting to get into this now, as some really decent attacking play through Will Vaulks and Richie Towell forces a corner...

And the home side are so close to the opener - there's a goalmouth scramble from the corner and Rory Watson pushes away Michael Ihiekwe's goalbound header from a yard or so out.

Watson had only played nine games before tonight for Scunny - that'll do his confidence a lot of good.

Rotherham have a huge shout for a penalty as Ryan Yates seems to catch Ryan Williams in the box, but the referee waves it away.

Williams has a couple of efforts blocked after the resulting corner.

Approaching the midway point of this first half and you have to wonder what will be going through Rotherham fans' minds.

Their side have not threatened at all so far and have had a lot less possession - right now you'd be hard pressed to say it would be anything other than a Scunthorpe win - but of course football can change very quickly...

First save of the night - and it's Rotherham's big Slovakian Marek Rodak who makes it.

Duane Holmes runs down the middle, slides it to the left for Hakeeb Adelakun, who has a powerful low shot that Rodak saves at the second attempt.

Scunthorpe have the ball in the net, but Duane Holmes is offside.

Toney wins the ball well, it's threaded through to Holmes, but he's a long way offside.

Scunthorpe have had 60% of the possession so far in this match and have had the best of any opportunities.

That being said, neither keeper has had anything resembling a save to make - the carrot of Wembley is still dangling tantalisingly at the New York Stadium!

Neither team seems to be able to string a succession of passes together here, either through poor accuracy or decent tackling.

Both sides are getting stuck in now and it's starting to feel like the do-or-die game that it is.

The free-kick was floated into the Scunthorpe box, but the visitors clear and Rotherham waste a pass forward from the clearance.

Scunthorpe have had the better chances so far. A free-kick floated into the box saw a couple of efforts blocked before a ball in was well held by Marek Rodak in the Millers goal.

Rodak's ball forward ends with Williams being fouled about 25 yards out from the Scunthorpe goal - the first thing for the home crowd to cheer.
