    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Germany have a free-kick about 25 yards out. There's a big build-up for it, Thomas Muller runs over the ball and then Julian Draxler just hits it down the centre of the goal and it's easily saved.

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Germany haven't looked as good since the changes. This is usually the case in the second half of international friendlies. It was similar last night in England's game.

Yahya Al-Shehri has a shot for Saudi Arabia, he controls the ball with his chest and volleys over. They've shown promising signs in this game - although they've understandably been outplayed.

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

More boos for Ilkay Gundogan as he tries to control the ball on the edge of the penalty area. He'll probably be glad to play in front of neutrals in Russia at the moment.

It's all over in Lugano as Switzerland beat Japan 2-0. The only friendlies left today are this one and Poland v Chile, which just kicked off 10 minutes ago. That's 0-0.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 65 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Mohammad Al-Sahlawi, who scored 16 goals in 14 World Cup qualifiers, almost has a chance with a header but Marc-Andre ter Stegen does well to hold onto it.

Barcelona keeper Ter Stegen would have been Germany's first choice had Manuel Neuer not recovered in time.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 63 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Both sides make a change up front - Mario Gomez replaces Timo Werner for Germany. The RB Leipzig striker has done enough to start against Mexico.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Al-Sahlawi is on for Fahad Al-Muwallad.

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia's first chance in a while as Salem Al-Dawsari, who faced Real Madrid on the final day of the La Liga season, shoots wide from distance.

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Ilkay Gundogan is totally free in the centre and has two efforts saved by Abdullah Al-Mayouf. I think everyone was expecting the offside flag to go up but it didn't.

Whistles from his own fans there. A strong position. Politics, eh?

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 58 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Germany make their third change as Ilkay Gundogan, the Manchester City midfielder, replaces Marco Reus.

It's job done for Reus, he was impressive and will surely start against Mexico.

Gundogan is booed by some of the fans in Leverkusen as he comes on. Some people aren't happy that he described Turkey's president as "my president".

Boss Joachim Low turned round angrily to the fans there and asked them to applaud the midfielder.

  11. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Salman Al-Faraj fizzes one over from distance for Saudi Arabia. Like most of the squad, he's never played outside his homeland.

  12. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

A good team move by Germany results in Thomas Muller turning on the edge of the area and forcing a fine diving save from Abdullah Al-Mayouf, who has had a top game.

  13. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Jonas Hector does a totally unnecessarily pirouette on the left - yes, more of that please.

Switzerland have made it 2-0 against Japan in Lugano, with Haris Seferovic adding their second goal.

  15. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Almost a third as Germany left-back Jonas Hector, who will be playing in the second tier for Cologne next season, crosses and Julian Draxler's effort is well saved.

  16. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Julian Draxler plays an excellent through ball to Timo Werner. You'd expect him to whizz away from the defence there but he dawdles for some reason and the Saudis get it away.

  17. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Mats Hummels looks a bit uncomfortable after that effort, maybe a slight tweak. I'm sure they'll bring him off if there are any real concerns.

  18. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Germany right-back Joshua Kimmich, the heir to Philipp Lahm, does brilliantly to lose a marker down the right but his cross is cleared for a corner.

The corner comes all the way across to Mats Hummels, who puts it over from close range.

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    The second half has begun.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 8 June 2018

    Germany 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Germany boss Joachim Low decides that Manuel Neuer has got enough football to go to the World Cup and Marc-Andre ter Stegen replaces him. At the back, Niklas Sule is on for Jerome Boateng, who was returning from injury today.

The Saudis make a defensive change as Mohammed Al-Breik replaces Mansoor Al-Harbi.
