  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 67 mins

    Reading 1-1 Derby County

Reading boss Paul Clement is the first to twist and turn to his bench.

John Swift is the man to come off after taking a knock and in his place comes the Royals' new striker Sam Baldock, who joined from Brighton on Monday.

Twenty five minutes to go and everything to play for and plenty of time for either side to find a winner.

Two contrasting goals in the space of eight minutes have certainly livened this one up.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson with the hammer header from a nice bit of direct football and then Mason Mount's drilled effort, courtesy of a slight error from Vito Mannone for the leveller.

Fair to say both sides have been more decisive in their approach in this second half.

  4. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Reading 1-1 Derby County

Suddenly Derby are full of verve.

Reading have dominated this game but they first find themselves level and then very nearly behind as Harry Wilson's cross just squirms under Mason Mount's outstretched foot in the box.

Out of nothing Derby are level!

The ball breaks for Mason Mount 25 yards out, he takes aim with his left foot and Vito Mannone can only push the teenager's low shot into the bottom corner.

Frank Lampard is delighted on the bench.

  6. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Reading 1-0 Derby County

Chance for Derby as the ball breaks for Harry Wilson on the edge of the box.

But the ball gets caught under his feet and slips behind him. Joe Ledley races in looking to finish but Paul McShane puts in a block and the ball bobbles through to Vito Mannone.

  7. Postpublished at 56 minutes

    Reading 1-0 Derby County

There's been no response from Derby so far so will Frank Lampard turn to his bench?

Summer signing from Brentford Florian Jozefzoon is among the subs and is warming up.

The Rams scored 12 goals from substitutes last season - they could do with one now.

Now Frank Lampard knows how it feels to be a football manager - his Derby side are behind.

It's a cracking finish from Jon Dadi Bodvarsson who meets Mo Barrow's pinpoint cross with a thumping a header from eight yards.

"We are top of the league" sing the Royals fans. Come on, it's a bit early for that, surely?

  9. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 48 mins

    Reading 0-0 Derby County

Derby have the ball in the net but it's not going to count!

The Rams get the ball forward quicker than at any time in the first half and are rewarded when David Nugent heads in a cross from the left.

However, his celebrations are quickly cut short by a raised flag for offside. It was the correct decision too.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 46 mins

    Reading 0-0 Derby county

The first action of the second half sees Max Lowe go into the book for going through Sone Aluko.

    Reading's free-kick comes to nothing.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 45 mins

    Reading 0-0 Derby County

No changes at the break and Reading get us back under way.

    HT: Reading 0-0 Derby County

    Adam Williams
    BBC Sport at Madejski Stadium

A frenetic start, a fairly sedate middle section and then a more physical and energetic finish to that first 45 minutes of this Championship season.

Derby's approach has been patient and at times very laboured on the ball, but they seem to know why they're doing it under their new manager.

Reading will perhaps rue not being more decisive in the final third on the occasions they have caught Derby being too ponderous in possession.

  17. HALF-TIME Reading 0-0 Derby Countypublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 3 August 2018

Reading v DerbyImage source, Rex Features

So goalless at the break in Frank Lampard's first game as a manager.

He won't be too pleased with what he's seen so far, with Reading enjoying the better of the chances.

Two of them fell to Jon Dadi Bodvarsson but on both occasions Scott Carson was on hand to keep Derby on level terms.

    Reading 0-0 Derby County

Harry Wilson takes ownership of the free-kick - but he won't want to see that again.

It's high, wide and handsome from the on-loan Liverpool man. And that will be half-time too.

  19. Postpublished at 45+1 mins

    Reading 0-0 Derby County

David Meyler gifts Derby a corner in stoppage time.

Reading clear the ball initially but Derby push again and Tom Lawrence is hacked down just outside the box. This is dangerous.

  20. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Reading 0-0 Derby County

Still Reading look the more likely but Sone Aluko scoops a shot well over the bar from 20 yards.

We're going to have two minutes of stoppage time.
