Wayne Andrews: What grade would I give Luton Town so far? C-minus - but the "exams" were very hard - Portsmouth (A), Sunderland (H) and Peterborough (A).

John Rushton: I'd give Leeds' start to the Championship a 2.1 (Hons). The Hons are because I like the positive approach. 2-1 Is probably tonight's score...

Three early goals in the the third tier.

Luton lead at home to Southend thanks to Elliot Lee's second-minute strike.

Wycombe, promoted with the Hatters from League Two, are trailing, however, to a Freddie Ladapo strike for Plymouth.

And Keiron Morris has given Walsall the lead at AFC Wimbledon.

Very quiet start at Pride Park.

A swift Derby break causes a few Ipswich hearts to flutter but Craig Bryson's cross is too far in front of David Nugent.

  7. 'A cracking atmosphere'published at 19:58 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Swansea 0-0 Leeds

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

One for the tactics fans, who may well be interested in this match, given the fact Leeds are managed by Marcelo Bielsa, a man who Pep Guardiola rates among the best coaches in the world.

When the team news arrived earlier, it seemed Swansea had switched to a new wing-backs system with the recall of defender Kyle Naughton.

But it looks like they're playing with four at the back after all, in a 4-2-3-1 formation with usual right-back Connor Roberts pushed up on to the wing in what might be a move to shackle Leeds' marauding left-back Barry Douglas.

In non-tactical news, it's a cracking atmosphere here with both sets of fans in fine voice.

    QPR 0-0 Bristol City

    Angel RangelImage source, Rex Features

You get the sense tonight is a much bigger game for QPR boss Steve McClaren than Robins manager Lee Johnson.

Johnson seems to have the gift of time. He has endured barren, winless runs not just with Bristol City but also previous club Barnsley.

Both stuck with him and he rewarded them - leading Barnsley out of League One's bottom four and on the road to promotion, then taking City to last season's Carabao Cup semi-finals, beating several Premier League sides, including Manchester United, on the way.

Will McClaren be afforded similar patience at QPR?

Liam Coates: Hull get a great big F from me. If we somehow lose to Rotherham it’ll be whatever is lower than that. Expelled?

Andy Sykes: I couldn't of dreamed of the start Bolton Wanderers have made. We only had 2 points after 11 games last season, we have 7 points after 3 this year. So for that they get an A* with a recommendation for a place in the Premier League.

    Derby 0-0 Ipswich

    Frank LampardImage source, Rex Features

A real contrast between the two managers in the Pride Park dugouts tonight.

Frank Lampard, of course, pretty much achieved it all as a player. Premier Leagues, Champions Leagues, FA Cups, you name it.

In the opposite dugout, Paul Hurst spent virtually his entire playing career in England's other three professional divisions with Rotherham.

But after leading Grimsby to promotion from the National League and nearly repeating the feat with Shrewsbury in League One last season, he has been handed a crack at the Championship with Ipswich.

Neither have enjoyed quite the start they would have wanted - who will be smiling come the final whistle tonight?

    It's goalless eight minutes in.

    Swansea 0-0 Leeds

Swansea have started well against in-form Leeds and have dominated much of the opening stages.

There has also been a late change to Leeds' starting line-up. Jamie Shackleton has replaced Liam Cooper.

Positive start from the Hoops. And you would expect nothing else after being on the wrong end of a 7-1 mauling.

Swansea City manager Graham Potter makes two changes from Friday’s goalless draw at Birmingham. Midfielder Leroy Fer makes his first start after injuring his Achilles in February, and there is a recall for defender Kyle Naughton, with Tom Carroll and Joel Asoro the two to make way in what seems to be a switch to a wing-backs system from Potter.

Swansea: Mulder; Naughton, van der Hoorn, Rodon; Roberts, Fulton, Fer, Olsson; Celina, McKay; McBurnie.

Meanwhile, Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa names an unchanged side from Saturday’s 2-0 win over Rotherham.

Leeds: Peacock-Farrell; Ayling, Berardi, Cooper, Douglas; Klich, Phillips; Alioski, Saiz, Hernandez; Roofe.

It's fair to say there have been better days at the office for Steve McClaren and his Queens Park Rangers side than Saturday's 7-1 drubbing against West Bromwich Albion.

Rangers suffered their biggest defeat for 31 years and have now lost their opening three games.

Tonight they host a Bristol City side looking for their first victory of the campaign - too early to call it a six-pointer?

"I'm shocked, I couldn't believe the collapse," McClaren told BBC Radio 5 live after the defeat.

"It's unacceptable, we can't have that. It's unacceptable for the fans, it's unacceptable for the club and now we have to react on Tuesday."

Well, here's your opportunity, Steve. The Rs boss has made four changes to his side.
