West Brom are asking questions of Middlsebrough a bit more in this half but Harvey Barnes plays straight into Middlesbrough's defenders and they manage to clear.

This time Britt Assombalonga evades West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi to tee up Ryan Shotton to nod over the bar.

Sam Johnstone then punts away a Boro corner and the visitors are on the counter, but Dwight Gayle fires over the bar.

Daniel Ayala heads behind him and forces Sam Johnstone into collecting a loose ball.

Middlesbrough lead the shot count 12-5 and the corner county 7-1 - but aside from Stewart Downing's fizzing shot from distance haven't really forced Sam Johnstone into a serious save.

West Brom, somehow, have churned out 56% of the possession. They've done next to nothing with it.

Somehow this has ended up goalless at the break.

Middlesbrough have dominated the first 45 minutes of this game but they just cannot seem to find the back of the net.

Darren Moore will happy to end the half. He'll be wanting a bit more of his West Brom side when they return.

A rare lull in play here and the intensity has calmed somewhat from both sides. We're closing in on the end of the first half.

Somehow there's been no goals but 16 shots, including 11 from Boro.

West Brom do well to work their way into Middlesbrough's half, but Matt Phillips plays a ball which none of his team-mates can run onto.

It's not going their way so far.

How on earth are Boro not 1-0 up?!

Martin Braithwaite finds Jonny Howson, who tees up Britt Assombalonga in the box, but his shot is palmed away for yet another corner.

George Friend finds the ball in acres of space totally unmarked. He ignores the cries of shoot and instead thunders a low cross straight into the box.

However, it wrong foots a crowd of Boro players and Albion live to fight another day.

West Brom do well to deal with it, though, as the hosts can't quite find a shot on goal.

There have been 15 goals in the Baggies' past two games, but we're just over half an hour into this match and neither side have found the net just yet.
