Arsenal youngster Emile Smith-Rowe, who turns 18 today, was hugely impressive against Atletico Madrid and he scored a thumping equaliser in the second half - dribbling past two defenders before curling it into the top corner.

New signing, 19-year-old Frenchman Matteo Guendouzi, was composed on the ball in midfield and controlled the tempo of play.

He's been awarded with another start today.

Reiss Nelson is no stranger to Arsenal fans having made 16 first-team appearances including three in the Premier League and eight in the Europa League.

The 18-year-old winger was a constant threat against an inexperienced Atletico defence and he'll be hoping to impress again this afternoon if he comes on as a substitute.

Unai Emery left Paris Saint-Germain in May but now he faces his former club in a pre-season International Champions Cup match.

It is Arsenal's third game of the summer, following an 8-0 win over Boreham Wood and a penalty shootout defeat to Atletico Madrid.

"For us, it’s about continuing our preparations," said Emery. "It’s another match but we don’t want to change our focus.

"Our focus is to get every player up to speed and work on tactical things to get better for when we start [Premier League] competition.

"It will also be nice for me to meet my friends who I worked with at Paris St-Germain."

  4. Ozil back in the gamepublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 28 July 2018

    Arsenal v PSG (12:35 BST)

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil quit international football, citing the "racism and disrespect" he faced in Germany over his Turkish roots.

The 29-year-old was criticised after being photographed with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a London event in May.

He says he received hate mail and threats and was being blamed for Germany's disappointing World Cup.

But Arsenal have made him their captain today and Unai Emery has backed the midfielder to remain a key part of the team.

    How will he get on?

Arsenal have named a very strong starting XI as Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan come back into the side in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also starts, as do new signings Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Matteo Guendouzi and Bernd Leno.

Youngsters Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Emile Smith-Rowe, Joseph Willock and Reiss Nelson are on the bench.

Arsenal XI: Leno, Kolasinac, Papastathopoulos, Mustafi, Bellerin, Elneny, Guendouzi, Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Iwobi.

PSG have a fairly inexperienced side but main man Gianluigi Buffon starts in goal. There is also room in the starting line-up for Timothy Weah.

They will set up in a 3-4-1-2 system so the battle is likely to be in midfield.

Paris St-Germain XI: Buffon, Rimane, Diarra, Soh, Rabiot, N'Soki, Bernede, Georgen, Nkunku, Weah, Toufiqui.
