  1. 'That's how Emery wants Arsenal to play'published at 15:40 British Summer Time 25 August 2018

    Arsenal 1-1 West Ham

    Garth Crooks
BBC Sport football expert on Final Score

Arsenal look relieved. They look good going forward but they are clearly still shaky at the back.

That's how Emery wants them to play, looking sharp going forward.

Bellerin's received a lot of criticism last week but he delivered a great ball in and West Ham couldn't handle it.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Cardiff

Philip Billing tries to push through the Cardiff lines but he is eventually forced out wide. Full-back Terence Kongolo picks the ball up and then waltzes into the area before fizzing in a cross but the visitors clear.

  3. Not a thrillerpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 25 August 2018

    Southampton 0-0 Leicester

There has been one shot on target in the entire half so far - that partly tells the tale of the current event at St Mary's.

    Arsenal 1-1 West Ham

Suspect defending again from Arsenal as Felipe Anderson's shot is blocked after some nervous attempts to clear. Lively going forward, dodgy at the back - at least Arsenal fans can expect to see lots of goals under Unai Emery.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

A beautiful delivery by Gylfi Sigurdsson from the right is punched well clear by keeper Asmir Begovic - it needed to be with Cenk Tosun lurking.

This match had gone off the simmer, but now it's back on. It's not been on the boil yet.

    Nacho Monreal (30 mins)

    Well that was quick!

Immediate response by Arsenal as they work the ball down the right to Hector Bellerin, who looks up before playing a low cross just in front of goal. The ball is flicked away but only to Nacho Monreal, who drives in.

  7. Arnautovic 'an intelligent player'published at 15:30 British Summer Time 25 August 2018

    Arsenal 0-1 West Ham

What a delightfully worked goal from West Ham. Arnautovic is such an intelligent player. He hung around the 18-yard box and when the ball came to him, there was nothing Cech could do.

That was absolutely brilliant and there's more to come from this West Ham team.

The lack of action at the John Smith's Stadium has prompted the cameraman to go a bit rogue. He's just spent a few seconds pointing his camera at the sky for some arty cloud shots. Clearly pretty confident he wasn't going to miss anything.

Jannik Vestergaard heads wide from a corner - a decent effort by the defender.

Richarlison lands on his back and winds himself...

    He seems to be OK.

GOAL - Arsenal 0-1 West Hampublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 25 August 2018

    Marko Arnautovic (25 mins)

First shot on target for West Ham = the first goal of the game.

Arsenal's defending has been suspect whenever it's been put under the slightest bit of pressure and it's all too easy for Marko Arnautovic. He plays a one-two with Felipe Anderson before sweeping home from the edge of the area to finish a sweeping counter attack.

A bit of allsorts at the Vitality.

The screwball scramble finishes with Joshua King producing a hooked toe-poke of an effort from six yards that is easily collected by Jordan Pickford.

Cherries have created a handful of good chances already.

Arsenal are bossing possession but West Ham are starting to get a bit braver after being content initially to sit back.

The Gunners fail to deal with a speculative ball into the box and Marko Arnautovic is almost on it but just can't quite get his head to it before the hosts clear.

Southampton have come flying out of the traps but they've yet to trouble Kasper Schmeichel in the Leicester goal.

Over at St Mary's it's still the Saints on top.

Shane Long has a half chance but his attempt at a header is subdued by the might of Harry Maguire - of England World Cup fame.

Early substitutions for both sides is about as interesting as things have gotten at the John Smith's Stadium.

Only shot by either side with 20 minutes gone was from Terence Kongolo, who drove into the sidenetting for Huddersfield from distance.

This is a good game. It's very tight and because of that, West Ham have come much more into the game.

  18. What a miss!published at 15:17 British Summer Time 25 August 2018

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

    That is woeful Callum Wilson!

The Cherries striker, touted by Steve Cook to be a contender for the PL golden boot, misses the target altogether from eight yards out, and in acres of space, after he was found by Ryan Fraser.

To quote the great Barry Chuckle: "Oh dear! Oh dear!"

Better from Henrikh Mkhitaryan as he hammers a loose ball towards goal. Lukasz Fabianski palms it away but Aaron Ramsey is there to stab in the rebound... only to be denied by the linesman's flag.

Bobby Seagull: If you had told me at the start of the season that the Hammers would have as many points as Arsenal after two games, I'd have bitten your hand off. Didn't realise that both teams would still be waiting for their first points. Tough away homework for Wilshere & the Irons.
