Now it's Aaron Lennon's turn to get a word from the referee after he takes out Adam Smith on the left hand touchline.

Jefferson Lerma gets a talking to from Anthony Taylor, but nothing else, after clipping Ashley Westwood's ankle in midfield.

Joshua King chips in a nice cross from the left but it's just a touch too high for Callum Wilson inside the area.

It's been an even start so far, but nothing in the way of clear-cut chances.

Matej Vydra will lead Burnley's bid to add to their tally of just two goals so far this season, and he's the focal point of a swift counter-attack, but Steve Cook gets a well-timed foot in to end the threat.

Andrew Surman, back in the Cherries side today, drills in a low shot from outside the box that smacks into a Clarets foot to rebound away. Joshua King then tries to weave his way into the box, but yet again the solid Burnley defence is too good.

The pair that are possibly under Southgate's gaze go head-to-head, with Tarkowski robbing Wilson just in front of the box to stop Bournemouth's first decent attack.

Gareth Southgate is in the stands, possibly running the rule over James Tarkowski and Callum Wilson.

The Clarets maintain their good start, pushing back the visitors who have hardly seen the ball yet.

With the Europa League balancing act long since an issue, the wily Burnley boss believes there now needs to be a period of introspection by his players, only months after securing their highest Premier League finish.

In marked contrast, Bournemouth are enjoying their best start to a top-flight campaign, with little need for self-analysis.

Having recorded a first ever victory at Turf Moor in May, they will feel confident of moving 12 points above the division's bottom side by inflicting what would be a fifth straight defeat on the Clarets.
