Leicester goalscorer Demarai Gray: "Not surprised we won today. We owe ourselves a lot of credit, whole of Leicester should be proud of themselves.

Leicester captain Wes Morgan: "You can see by our reaction at the end of the game, how much we wanted to get the win and do it for the chairman.

"We felt the pressure before the game. It was a scrappy game, the lads fought to the very end.

"We were very close to the chairman. We know what his wishes were. He used to come down at home games, have a joke and laugh, always say 'want win and three points', we did that today. It has not been an easy week, we had to try and hold our emotions in today and do the best we can.

"We have a very emotional connection with the fans, so we stayed till the end and celebrated victory with them."

Leicester boss Claude Puel speaking to Sky Sports:"It was a difficult game to play and to prepare it was important to keep concentration in set pieces and second balls, but I think from the first minute until the end we kept our concentration and our dedication.

"We had a lot of chances and we deserve this result and it is a fantastic opportunity to honour the chairman. It is a good balance between emotion and concentration which is difficult, now is just the first step and I hope we can continue next week with the same feeling. It will be difficult because we come back from Bangkok in the middle of the week for our first home game and we know before and after we have events to honour the chairman and it will be important to keep our self-control.

“It was a normal thing for us to have the players and staff for the minute’s silence, it is important for solidarity and we want to give our best for our chairman, step by step, to continue his work.

“It is a family and I think Vichai with his warmth, it is a mission to keep this way, and put in place a project that we must try to continue. When we saw the flowers in front of the stadium - it is a family and the feeling that our chairman gave this club.”

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel speaking to Gary Lineker for BBC Match of the Day: "That was a tough game not just on the pitch but mentally. There are a lot of exhausted people in there now but I am proud of this team and the club, the way everyone has handled themselves has been unbelievable. We were very lucky to know Khun Vichai

"Today was difficult, coming out for the warm-up was tough, the first 10 minutes i couldn’t steady myself, I was shaking a little bit. But it was nice to get a win to take to Thailand now and hopefully we did his family proud.

"It has been hard, we have tried for a few hours a day to be professional and train hard but everyone wanted to play and win for his family. His family have been strong, the courage they have had. I feel just an overwhelming sense of pride that Vichai built and the family of Leicester city.

"You couldn’t ask for a better chairman. There are few people who come along in this life that have an impact on you, he had that on me and so many people and the outpouring of grief around the world shows that. There is nothing he wouldn’t do, he was available for any staff not just the playing staff. Without him none of this was possible, the memories we have made as a family without him it wouldn’t have been possible

"Everyone grieves in different ways and the opportunity was given [to go the funeral] and we wanted to go. We are a family and wanted to pay our last respects together."

Cardiff's Sol Bamba: "He [Vichai] was a good man, had chance to meet him and he was a big loss.

"It was difficult for us, the whole build-up wasn't easy to handle. But that is not an excuse, the gaffer warned us about this. Obviously we pay respects before and after, but during game we are professional.

"The fans were magnificent all season, in particular today, showing whole football family stick together, credit to fans and Leicester fans, on whole it is a win for football."

"It was tough to prepare this game, important to find the good balance between emotion and concentration for this game. I want to congratulate the players. Today is the first step, now we can continue.

"We will have a difficult week or so. We go to Bangkok for the funeral, we come back in the middle of the week, we have a training session to prepare against Burnley. That will be our first game at home with the fans."

"The way everyone at the club handles themselves is a testament to the family Vichai built.

"That took a lot, so proud of how everyone played today, how professional everyone was. It has been an emotional day and glad we got three points for him.

"You come across very few people that impact you. He had a really big impact on my life. You can see from the reaction that he had an impact on so many lives. I am immensely proud to have known him.

"I can't imagine what his family are going through, we did it for him and his family.

"Every single player wanted to get out there to be at the funeral. We are glad we've come away today from a really tough game with a win we can bring to Thailand and hope we did the family proud."

The celebrations continue as the Leicester fans go through their repertoire of songs.
