  1. 'We tried different approaches'published at 22:20 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2018

    Wolves 2-1 Chelsea

Wolves goalscorer Diogo Jota to BBC Sport: "I think it was a good achievement for me and special because it gave us the victory. Fortunately for us it happened at home in front of our fans.

"I think even when things aren’t working out for us, we have to believe in our work.

"When we are not winning, we have to change something. We tried different approaches but keeping our identity. We had to give a little bit more of ourselves to win the game.

"When we get the goal, we believe. We knew they’re a big team but we believe in our abilities.

"It’s hard for the players when you work hard and don’t get the results."

  2. 'We became another team after equaliser'published at 22:19 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2018

    Wolves 2-1 Chelsea

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri to BBC Sport: "Of course I am disappointed. We played very well in the first half. We could have killed the game.

"Suddenly we conceded a goal and we we were the same team on the pitch. It’s very difficult for me to understand why. There was time for winning the match. I can’t understand the reaction.

"I don’t know [whether we should have had a penalty]. In the first 10 minutes of the second half we had five goal opportunities. I don’t want to discuss only one possible penalty.

"We played very well for 55 minutes and then suddenly we were another team.

"In Italy [with Napoli] I lost the championship with 91 points. So I know every match you have to gain points and points and points."

  3. 'Scoring doesn't count when you lose'published at 22:17 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2018

    Wolves 2-1 Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek: "We felt in control in the first half. We felt comfortable and were playing good football. They came out fast in the second half and we were sloppy as a team. If you’re sloppy you pay for it in the Premier League.

"We should expect to play well whoever plays. We need to turn this around quickly as we have a tough game at the weekend [Manchester City]. We’re very disappointing. We pick our heads up and go again.

"[I scored] Another goal but it doesn’t count when you lose. When you score a goal and lose it’s not the same feeling."

  4. 'What I've dreamed of as a kid'published at 22:14 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2018

    Wolves 2-1 Chelsea

Wolves teenager Morgan Gibbs-White made his first Premier League start today - and assisted a goal

"It's what I've dreamed of as a kid, growing up wanting to play in the Premier League. It's massive for the boy at the minute. To get three points is a massive boost.

"We had to [defend well] with the quality they have.

"We have a determination and want to win. But we need to show that in all our games, not just against the big teams."

    Wolves 2-1 Chelsea

The result of the night has to be in Wolverhampton, where the promoted side has turned around their iffy run and bloodied the nose of faltering Chelsea.

  6. 'Everyone knows confidence is not high'published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2018

    FT: Man Utd 2-2 Arsenal

    Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic speaking to BT Sport: Both teams attacked. It was a great game for the supporters but I thought we deserved a point. Everyone knows the confidence is not high, but this is the fight that we have to show. Everyone is ready to play wherever the manager asks.

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling speaking to BT Sport: All of us know we are in a tough path of form and everyone is giving everything to help us through. Everyone is digging in. We were on the front foot and pressing them because we know they like to play and I thought we were unlucky not to get the third goal.

  7. 'What is left for United this season?'published at 22:08 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2018

    Man Utd 2-2 Arsenal

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

We say Manchester United were held 2-2 at home, but really it was Arsenal that were held 2-2, they were the better side especially second half.

Aubameyang had a big, big chance to score and a good save from David De Gea. They had a goal ruled out, I didn't see United play any football in the middle.

Where was the creativity, the energy? Kolasinac was a threat going forward and he left Dalot exposed. Overall Arsenal were the better side, they could have won.

The point puts United further away from the Champions league places. I don't think they'll get a Champions League spot and they won't win it (this season). What is left for United this season other than the FA Cup?

After all that, Liverpool stay two points behind Manchester City, while Tottenham go above Chelsea into third. Arsenal are level on points with the Blues, while Manchester United are eight off the top five - level with Everton and Bournemouth.

  9. 'The experience was fantastic'published at 22:02 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2018

    Fulham 1-1 Leicester

Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think a draw was right.

"It was just that they had two great chances at the beginning and they had another two after they scored.

"In our best moment we conceded a goal and we then had the last chance to win the game.

"A draw is OK. We have to fight and sooner or later we will win. Everybody is working hard to do their best and in the second half we had the match in our hands. But that’s football."

On defensive problems: "I have to solve it working every day, more and more and more."

On reception from fans: "The experience was fantastic from the beginning when the fans together shouted my name. But after I was so concentrated."

  10. 'We should have scored more'published at 22:00 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2018

    Everton 1-1 Newcastle

    Everton

Everton defender Kurt Zouma said: "Richarlison is flying but we were a bit unlucky and we could have scored more in the first half. We need to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible."

On Pickford's performance: "We know Jordan is different class but we are all together in this."

Donald: Looking at the Wolves vs Chelsea match stats, you can see why being effective is better than being efficient. You bury your chances when you get them

Michael: We have been rather quickly figured out under Sarri. We concede too many chances and fail to convert too many of our big chances. Also, too many players underperforming. For now, he must change his system and/or personnel

  12. 'Doesn't mean our problems are solved'published at 21:56 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2018

    Wolves 2-1 Chelsea

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo to BBC Sport: "I think it was a very good performance. In the first half the organisation and staying in the game was important.

"In the second half, we showed desire to go in front. I think it was fantastic work from the boys. The only way to play these teams is you have to run more than them and when you have your chances take them.

This doesn’t mean all the problems are solved. It means we have to maintain these standards."
