Huddersfield Town ended their nine-game losing run in a goalless draw at Cardiff but there was controversy as the Terriers were denied a penalty when referee Lee Mason changed his mind.

Mason had pointed to the spot when Florent Hadergjonaj went to ground after a Joe Bennett challenge, but, after speaking with an assistant, reversed his decision.

Bottom of the table Huddersfield were the better side, with the hosts not having a shot on target.

Jason Puncheon, making his first Premier League appearance for the visitors since joining on loan from Crystal Palace, had a good chance in the eighth minute but shot just wide from 25 yards.

Steve Mounie's hooked effort at goal was pushed over the top in a match short of quality and chances.

Goalless.

The penalty that was given, then reversed, will be the main talking point.

Jason Puncheon produces a step over and crosses but it is too long. The ball stays alive, it comes to substitute Laurent Depoitre, he heads at goal, but Etheridge springs to get a hand to it.

Four minutes of injury time. Late drama?

Laurent Depoitre, without a goal this season, gets a few minutes to be a hero, he comes on for Steve Mounie.

A half chance for Cardiff as the ball is played forward, but Jonas Lossl dashes out of his area to head it away.

Junior Hoilett loses possession, stands on the foot of Elias Kachunga and gets a yellow for that one.

Better from Cardiff, Callum Paterson's effort is deflected for a corner. It is taken from the left, but Jonas Lossl does well to claim the cross under pressure.

No shots on goal, one corner, only one shot off target. Neil Warnock would have expected more against the league's bottom side.

That may count as an effort on target. A Huddersfield throw-in from the left wing and Steve Mounie heads goalwards but it is easily dealt with by Neil Etheridge.

Huddersfield have been the better side since the restart, but still have not looked like scoring.

Sol Bamba, he's still on by the way, has just made a superb block to deflect Jason Puncheon's shot. Proper defending. Excellent.
