And now Arsenal threaten at the other end!

Matteo Guendouzi's 25-yarder brushes the wrong, from an Arsenal point of view, side of the top-corner netting.

Some Arsenal fans though it was in.

West Ham counterparts enjoyed correcting them.

As the game develops, can West Ham keep up this tempo, have they got the legs?

Arsenal are comfortable and willing to sit back.

It will be interesting if this pace to the game will keep up in the second half

  3. CLOSE!published at 32 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Arsenal

West Ham are a foot away from the opener!

Arsenal are opened up far too easily as Mark Noble is allowed time to get his head up and flip the ball over the top to Marko Arnautovic.

Shkodran Mustafi is shrugged aside too easily, then Samir Nasri is able hold the ball up and lay off into the path of Felipe Anderson.

The Brazilian's low, skimming shot is just wide with Bernd Leno struggling to cover his post.

More dinky, clever stuff around the edge of the penalty box from West Ham, but no end product just yet.

A lot like late noughties Arsenal...

According to the manufacturers Arsenal's shirt is 'Biscay Green' in colour.

I'm open to other descriptions of that shade. Such as 'Month-old yoghurt mould'.

It was magnificent play from West Ham with a great run off the ball from Samir Nasri.

You think he may shift it on to his right foot, but he decides to hit one near- post and drags it wide.

West Ham are not going to die wondering today.

Marko Arnautovic and Michail Antonio bomb on enthusiastically before Samir Nasri's curls wide after a neat give-and-go.

Lots of claret and blue shirts getting into the Arsenal penalty box.

Declan Rice was brilliant to see the danger- a great interception.

He's West Ham's best player and been heavily involved so far.

It was a scintillating attack from Arsenal.

    West Ham 0-0 Arsenal

    Crucial from Declan Rice.

The West Ham midfielder gets back to intercept Sead Kolasinac's dangerous low cross after Alex Iwobi's pass opens up the Hammers' defence.

That is the sort of penalty-box bureaucracy that adds up in the final tally.

    West Ham 0-0 Arsenal

Alexandre Lacazette looks in the mood. The Arsenal striker is unlucky to be pinged for a free-kick as he attempts to spin off the shoulder of Angelo Ogbonna and into the penalty area.

    West Ham 0-0 Arsenal

Marko Arnautovic's first chance to make a meaningful impression on the match.

And the West Ham man dollops his cross too close to Bernd Leno.

And, considering how shaky Leno is on crosses, that really is close.

  12. Postpublished at 15 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Arsenal

Plenty of half-chances at either end.

Alexandre Lacazette - the best of Arsenal's attackers so far - heads just over from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's cross.

Could not get over the top of it.

Alexandre Lacazette getting a wriggle on as he breaks into the box through a hole between Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell.

Pablo Zabeleta is across to try and put him off. That may have been enough. Lacazette's initial effort from a tightening angle is saved by Lukasz Fabianski and his follow-up is over the top.

  14. Postpublished at 11 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Arsenal

Felipe Anderson plays like he never left the playground.

The former Lazio man collects the cleared corner at the second attempt after the ball runs loose from his initial casual trap.

No worries. He glides effortlessly back to the edge of the box, cuts onto his left foot and...swats his shot well wide.

Bags of talent though and looks confident that another chance will come.

It opened up for Arsenal and that will be the danger for West Ham today

It was a great ball into Alexandre Lacazette's feet and it was a powerful effort from him.

Then it was great pressure from the Hammers to force a corner.

    Game on.

Keith Webb: Arsenal need a map. They are going the wrong way

Daniel Cheng: Where the hell is Ozil today? No creativity through the middle either

Dave Payn: Let’s enjoy the actual games today. Far too much attention has been afforded VAR, the offside laws and spying on other teams in the last few days.

    West Ham 0-0 Arsenal

Alexandre Lacazette is picked out by a lofted ball forward by Granit Xhaka.

No pressure on the Arsenal striker as he chests the ball down on the edge of the box. That should be Declan Rice's backyard...

But Lacazette's punt towards the top corner wafts wide to whistles from the home fans.

Lawrence McNeela: Just looked at the lineups for @WestHamUtd, external vs @Arsenal, external and the Hammers look like they've got a much stronger team. This is amazing and probably the first time since Tony Cottee and McAvennie were playing. I predict a win for the 'Arry's 'Appy 'Ammer

Kyle: It should be a cracking match. Both teams are much better going forward than defensively. West Ham will fancy their chances. It would be typical if Nasri assisted or scored the winner. 2-1 West Ham is my prediction

Haseeb: I liked the courage and honesty of Biesla to accept that act of spying on his face. But anyways it sounds a good plot for the next 007 movie.
