Norwich's Jordan Rhodes is on the bench and will hope to get an opportunity against his old club at Carrow Road today, as Middlesbrough look to extend their unbeaten Championship start.

Rhodes' spell at the Riverside was a tricky one - despite signing a four-and-a-half year deal for £9m in February 2016, he managed just 15 league starts before falling out of favour and moving to Sheffield Wednesday the following summer.

But could Rhodes be... cursed? Since a double against Ipswich Town in October 2015 for Blackburn Rovers, he hasn't scored a single goal in any of his past 16 league appearances, including the play-offs, against sides he’s previously represented in the English Football League.

And he couldn't really be up against tougher opposition today. Boro haven’t conceded a goal in their past 503 minutes of Championship football.

    • Championship leaders Leeds make two changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Middlesbrough last time out. Pontus Jansson and Tyler Roberts come in for the injured Gaetano Berardi and Kemar Roofe. Millwall also make two changes from their last outing, including a debut for midfielder Ryan Leonard.
    • Middlesbrough name the same XI that drew at Elland Road, while Norwich drop former Boro striker Jordan Rhodes to the bench.
    • Bristol City striker Famara Diedhiou starts for the first time this season in their match against Sheffield United, who bring in John Lundstram for the injured John Fleck.
    • Derby County make four alterations for their trip to Rotherham, including a first start of the season for ex-England man Tom Huddlestone.

It's probably not best practice to make these kind of predictions six league games into the season - but if the Championship title race has already begun, we look set for a photo finish.

The biggest managerial coup of the summer has worked out well thus far - Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds top the table with 14 points, having spent the opening month combining breathless football with clinical finishing.

Close behind them - just three goals separate the two sides - are Tony Pulis' Middlesbrough. As if things couldn't be any closer, the sides played out a goalless draw when they met at the end of August, in their last outings before the international break.

They're both in action today as Middlesbrough head to Norwich and Leeds to Millwall. After Wolves turned the title race into a procession last season, two managers with outwardly different styles of football might take this one down to the wire...
