So ends another day of EFL action.

It felt good to be reunited with the Championship after so much time apart given the international break, but now we have to part again. It's tough.

But we won't have to wait too long for our next fix: we'll be back on Tuesday night, with all the action from the second tier. I can feel your excitement.

If you can't wait until then, click here for Phil Cartwright's match report from a lively game at Ewood Park.

Championship leaders Leeds United maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw at Millwall.

Goalscorer Jack Harrison said he was delighted to get the equaliser after being moved into an unfamiliar striking role.

"I tried to push their centre-backs back to give us more room in the midfield," he told BBC Radio Leeds.

"It was a big result after both Middlesbrough and Derby lost. It's an important point, a crucial point.

"We're happy to get the point but we'll be looking to play better and get the win next time."

    FT: Blackburn 1-1 Aston Villa

Bradley Dack on his goal to Sky Sports: "It was a bit of instinct to guide it towards the goal.

"I thought we'd done enough in the end, but it was a great strike [from Conor Hourihane to equalise] and there's not really much you can do about that.

"After we scored, I think we set up and let them come onto us. It took something special to break us down."

Conor Hourihane on his goal to Sky Sports: "It's just one of those moments on the edge of the box. I've scored free-kicks from that distance before and I fancied it and luckily it went in.

"It's been a disappointing [start to the season for me] as I've been in and out of the team so far, but when you get chances, you need to take them.

"We should be higher up - we've dropped points at the start of the season."

And that's the end of that!

Neither side can come up with a final late blow as Conor Hourihane's left boot salvages a point for a Villa side that dominated the second half.

That will come as some relief to Steve Bruce - Jack Grealish was the man who won the free-kick, by the way - and his side will pick up a point, responding well to the 4-1 drubbing incurred at the hands of Sheffield United in their last outing.

Bruce would have been under some serious pressure if his side had lost today.

    Conor Hourihane (90 + 3 mins)

That was a sublime free-kick from Conor Hourihane!

We have good reason to believe Hourihane studied those 'How to REALLY Bend it Like Beckham' tutorial DVDs that were all the rage in the noughties. Or maybe that was just in my house.

Anyway, Hourihane bends one round the wall with remarkable curl, too low for anyone to head it clear, and it swerves inwards like a boomerang to beat Rovers keeper David Raya.

Blackburn are living dangerously here, good grief.

They've got five minutes of stoppage time to ride, and inside the first 60 seconds of added time they leave Ben Brereton on his own to deal with Jonathan Kodjia.

    Reckless, that.

    Blackburn 1-0 Aston Villa

Charlie Mulgrew limbers up to take a Blackburn free-kick from distance - we've talked all day about needless fouls from this Villa team - and he goes to shoot, bravely...

It shouldn't cause any issues, but Orjan Nyland looks suspect as the ball cannons out of his cupped hands, smacks him in the chin and rolls out for a corner.

Sheffield United's Ollie Norwood, on loan from Brighton, did beat Nyland with a glorious free-kick in Villa's last Championship outing, so it was worth a shot.

Mike: Villa have a good squad but under Bruce we’ve had poor selections and tactics resulting in boring and turgid performances. We will not get promoted with Bruce in charge.

This'll be six games without a win in league and cup unless Villa spectacularly turn this one around at Ewood Park, but they'll only be two points off the play-off spots.

"E-I-E-I-E-I-O!" booming out at a rocking Ewood Park, as Harrison Reed hurtles forward with pace.

He goes into the book, though, hauling back Jack Grealish with a tactical foul as Villa look to counter.

They have good reason to chant, as it goes: Rovers will move up to eighth if the score stays like this.

Could Yannick Bolasie be the Villa hero?

He's trundling down the left, double-daring Ryan Nyambe to even come near him.

He ghosts past the Blackburn defender, the turf unrolling before him, the glory glinting in his eyes...

And his - cross, shot, don't even know, send in your suggestions - dips onto the roof of the net.

If you were wondering what Steve Bruce would do in response, makes a double substitution, with Conor Hourihane and Everton loanee Yannick Bolasie replacing Mile Jedinak and the influential Ahmed Elmohamady.

    Can Villa save this one?

Against the run of play, Blackburn have the opener!

Orjan Nyland rises decisively to punch Blackburn's second corner away, but Charlie Mulgrew's neat footwork sees him slip a cross back into the box.

Villa try to scramble it clear but Danny Graham gets a shot off - and it slips into the path of Bradley Dack to fire home with an exquisite touch after gearing himself up perfectly amid the pack of bodies.

Jonathan Kodjia is taunting the Blackburn defence, who have switched to a back three, with Derrick Williams replacing Adam Armstrong, to try to stifle the irrepressible Villa man.

Kodjia lays one off to Jedinak to shoot directly at David Raya, before Blackburn win two corners in quick succession. The first bumbles around the area before Jedinak heads it clear.

Jack Grealish is left on his own to babysit Villa's left flank against Harrison Reed and Ryan Nyambe.

Southampton loanee Harrison Reed makes his Blackburn debut as he replaces Ritchie Smallwood - an interesting decision in a game where the midfield battle has been so crucial so far.

Jack Grealish gets the better of him deep into Villa territory to set Villa's latest attack in motion, and with that, Jonathan Kodjia is on to replace Albert Adomah.

Villa's John McGinn strikes wide from outside the box - an instance of poor decision-making that doesn't do justice to the surging run that opened up the move in the first place.

Tammy Abraham has his arms in the air in disbelief and you can understand why: McGinn had time and a smattering of options, Abraham the most obvious one, but elected to fire wide nonetheless with a shot that didn't have a great deal on it.

The technical coach for Chelsea's loan players, Tore Andre Flo, is watching from the stands - assuming he's come up north to watch Tammy Abraham.

He's going to end up covering an awful lot of miles, given the number of loanees Chelsea have.
