Pep Guardiola has bought these players for this scenario so they have to enjoy it. You get paid the big bucks to handle situations like this. Pressure is for tyres.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino speaking to BT Sport: "We need to do a massive job tonight. Manchester City are one of the best teams in the world and we need to play well, perform as we can and not lose, that is the most important. Of course it is going to be tough we are going to miss a player like Harry Kane, but we have to believe."

Nothing jumps out at me from the team news and it is pretty much as expected. It's all set up to be an exciting game. I'm sure there are going to be goals and I cannot wait for it. Spurs know they will have to defend well because City will have more of the ball, but they have the pace to hurt City on attack.

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

Manchester City contested an all-Premier League tie at this stage of the competition last season - and ended up facing an even bigger task than they do tonight.

Liverpool brought a 3-0 lead to Etihad Stadium and despite a 45-minute siege from City won 2-1 on the night to go through comfortably.

This task seems almost straighforward in comparison but City will know conceding just one goal to this talented Spurs side could prove fatal.

Ar vind: Liverpool have to ride out the first few minutes carefully. One Porto goal immediately changes the complexion of the game

Declan: Alli is fit to start despite breaking a hand in the first leg. So it’s all hands and legs for Dele then

    Guillem Balague
Spanish football journalist on BBC Radio 5 live

For Mauricio Pochettino, he feels he is lucky to be here and they do not expect to go any further. To push forward and reach the semi-finals will be the cherry on the cake but it is all about the top four for Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola has been asked to dominate the Premier League and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League as often as he can. They have won the league but he has still not made the semi-final of the Champions League, so I would say this is more important for Manchester City.

  20. 'Hostile reception'published at 19:33 British Summer Time 17 April 2019

    Porto v Liverpool (agg 0-2, 20:00 BST)

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock said: "Players want to be involved in the biggest games of the season but it's the manager's decision to make sure he has a good balance in the team. The Porto goalkeeper was very poor in the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool last season, but they are a different team this year and I think it will be tough for Liverpool."

On the atmosphere in Portugal: "Every time you get the ball it is whistled and jeered very loud and the reception you get is very hostile, but the players in English teams are used to that atmosphere now so it won't be an issue for them."
