  6. 'Well 'have to match Livi physicality'published at 15:01 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Motherwell v Livingston (15:00)

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson: "We haven't started the season as well as we should have done. But I have got a team out today that resembles the team we had last season, with boys who are used to winning matches.

"Their first thought is not to lose games and I am confident going into the game.

"It is going to be a battle, Livingston come here in good form and they are not embarrassed about doing what they do. They are very good at it, so we have to match physically."

  7. Strength in depth for Killie - Clarkepublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Dundee v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke tells BBC Scotland: "There's one or two of them that were important for us last year that are not involved just now. I'm thinking specifically Kris Boyd, Gary Dicker, Rory McKenzie, were really good for us last year. Two of them are on the bench and Rory isn't even in the squad.

"So that's just a bit of a measure of how we've tried to change over the summer. But it's important to realise all the players I've just mentioned and the other squad players are going to be important over the course of the season.

"The incentive for the players this week is just to keep the good run going. I've said to the lads in the pre-match chat that it's difficult to win three matches in a row in the Premiership. So we have to be at our best today again against a dangerous Dundee side."

  8. Buddies out 'to put right the wrongs of last time'published at 14:57 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Aberdeen v St Mirren (15:00)

St Mirren manager Oran Kearney tells BBC Scotland: "We need to score some goals. What Adam Hammill will give us in assists and a goal threat is huge. We look forward to getting him out there and hopefully he can make a big impact.

"The response we've had from the players in the past couple of weeks has been good. They key thing today is we hit the same level as last week and giver ourselves an opportunity to do something.

"We're well aware of how hard it'll be today and hopefully we'll rise to that challenge.

"We have to put right the wrongs of last time [4-0 defeat in the League Cup] and manage our performance better."

  9. Can Hibs maintain unbeaten home run?published at 14:55 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Hibernian v Hamilton (15:00)

Hamilton were one of four teams to win at Easter Road in the Premiership in the first half of last season, as Neil Lennon's side adjusted to life back in the top flight.

But since the turn of the year, Hibs have been dominant at home, with an unbeaten league run that now stretches to nearly 10 months, and 13 games, since Rangers won 2-1 on 13 December 2017.

Eleven of those matches have come in 2018, with nine of them victories, including a 3-1 win over Accies back in April.

  10. Can Dundee match Killie's away-day kings?published at 14:52 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Dundee v Kilmarnock (15:00)

If the mood in Dundee is understandably brighter after their first league win of the season last weekend, the challenge of today's visitors to Dens Park should not be underestimated.

Steve Clarke's Kilmarnock have the joint-best away record in the Premiership in 2018, with five wins and three draws from their 12 games on the road this year.

That said, Killie were beaten in their last away game, 3-2 at Hibernian three weeks ago, so Neil McCann's side know theirs is not mission impossible today.

  11. 'Rotten week' for Donspublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Aberdeen v St Mirren (15:00)

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "It's been a rotten week. Last week I was really pleased with the performance, and Lewis Ferguson coming back in to training would have given us a decision to make in terms of the starting line-up. But we've lost James Wilson who still has a bit of tightness, and he's going to be such an important player so we've decided not to risk him.

"Since Oran Keanrey [St Mirren manager] has come in they've been a bit more compact. Looking at their team today it may well be 4-1-4-1 which is a wee change of their shape.

"It's important that although we'll use the last game [4-0 League Cup win] as a reference, that day we were clinical. It doesn't have to be four today, we'd like one more than St Mirren to give us the three points.

"We'll have Connor McLennan on the left and hopefully he'll give us pace, craft and power."

  12. 'Martin will get a little reminder of his duties'published at 14:48 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Hibernian v Hamilton Academical (15:00)

Hibernian head coach Neil Lennon says Martin Boyle will be reminded to focus on club matters this afternoon before getting too excited about his Australia call-up.

Lennon told BBC Radio Scotland: "We had difficulties last season with Hamilton and I expect more of the same today. They’re a consistent Premiership side and a team to be well-respected.

"We’re on a decent run, which is pleasing, and I want the players to protect it for themselves. It’s important with teams around us playing well that we keep the pressure on at the top if we can.

"Martin Boyle didn't train until yesterday because he had a bruised foot. We’re all delighted for him but [the Australia call-up] take care of itself next week. At the minute, he’s got to concentrate on his club business and get his head out of the clouds. He’ll get a little reminder of his duties today – score goals, create, try and win the game for us."

  13. Livi will relish Motherwell 'battle' - Holtpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Motherwell v Livingston (15:00)

Livingston boss Gary Holt, with four wins and a draw from five league games since succeeding Kenny Miller, has played down his own part in their rise to third place.

"It is more of a collective, the whole backroom staff and the players," he told BBC Scotland. "They make my job easy. I just steer the ship.

"We want to give them the tools to go out and play and express themselves, with a smile on their faces. I want them to enjoy their work, even away from home.

"You look at the pitch and surroundings here. If you can't get excited about this, we are in the wrong game.

"We know it is going to be a battle today; it is going to be tough, but it is something they are relishing."

  14. Can Dundee keep Brophy & Stewart quiet?published at 14:43 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Dundee v Kilmarnock (15:00)

It took Dundee seven attempts to get their first points of the season, getting off the mark with a 1-0 win at Hamilton last weekend.

Can they build on that today? Well, their record against Kilmarnock is not great, with just one win from the past 10 league meetings, although there have been six draws in that sequence.

Kilmarnock are ticking along nicely, having won three of their last four outings as Greg Stewart and Eamonn Brophy develop a good partnership in attack.

Their form is keeping Kris Boyd on the bench but fellow veteran Chris Burke is enjoying a new lease of life and has been directly involved in four of Killie's last six league goals, scoring twice and assisting a further two.

With just one goal at home so far, it's clear where bottom-of-the-table Dundee need to improve.

  15. Hibs aim to build on hat-trick of winspublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Hibernian v Hamilton (15:00)

Hibs have recovered well from their slip up at Livingston and look to make it four league wins on the bounce today.

Mark Milligan has added steel and experience to the Easter Road midfield, with Neil Lennon's men yet to concede a goal since the Australian came on for his debut against Kilmarnock three-and-a-half games ago.

But Hamilton have managed to score at least once in each of their past 10 top-flight games against Hibs (17 in total).

Accies managed a 3-1 win in Leith last season but have lost eight of their last nine away league games.

  16. Steelmen out to end losing slumppublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Motherwell v Livingston (15:00)

Livingston continue to upset the odds and all of the pundits who tipped them for a struggle.

Gary Holt hasn't lost a match since he replaced Kenny Miller as manager and the Lions added Rangers to their list of scalps last weekend.

Motherwell are on an alarming run of four defeats in all competitions and start the day 10 points behind today's visitors.

But Stephen Robinson's men did knock Livi out of the League Cup in August, with Danny Johnson netting the only goal.

  17. Dons look for bounce against Buddiespublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Aberdeen v St Mirren (15:00)

Aberdeen languish in seventh place after a sticky start but will be confident of picking up three points against a team they hit four past in the League Cup earlier this season.

Since then, the Dons have only scored three goals in six outings and St Mirren have managed to find the net just once in a seven-game sequence.

Aberdeen are traditionally strong at Pittodrie, with only one defeat in their last eight on home soil - a 2-0 defeat by Kilmarnock last month when they had 10 men for most of the game.

The Buddies, who have taken one point from their last six Premiership games, turned in a decent second-half showing against Hibs last week and new signing Adam Hammill should add some creativity up front once he gets up to speed.

  18. 'Miller brings know-how up front'published at 14:38 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Dundee v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Dundee manager Neil McCann tells BBC Scotland why he's put Kenny Miller straight back into side: "I had a decision to make, because Benjamin (Kallman) did well last week. Kenny's just a natural goalscorer and I just felt today just looking at our line-up, how Kilmarnock will shape up against us I just wanted his know-how round about the front line and I'm hoping it will pay dividends."

    On going for back-to-back wins....

"The boys have been really focused this week. The boys that have been selected today are so up for it and they want to prove how good a side they are by building on that win."

On the backing from Dundee chairman John Nelms...

"It's really positive. What I can say is we talk all the time, the discussions are always open. John's always welcome in my office, he's had a really good time in terms of being involved. He knows how hard we work here. He knows how frustrated we are come a Monday and we haven't had the result."

  19. Socceroos hopeful Boyle back for Hibspublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Hibernian v Hamilton Academical (15:00)

Martin Boyle, who could soon be an Australian international, returns from injury to start in the Hibs attack.

The pacy forward, called up to a Socceroos training camp next week, replaces Thomas Agyepong, who sits out today's game with a hamstring problem.

In the other change made by boss Neil Lennon, Vykintas Slivka starts ahead of Daryl Horgan.

Accies are still without influential duo Mikel Miller and Darian MacKinnon, who remain sidelined with injuries.

There are three former Hibees in away ranks. Scott Martin starts in midfield, with Tom Taiwo on the bench. And there's sure to be a warm reception for James Keatings if the striker gets on at Easter Road - as one of the 2016 Scottish Cup winners - unless he knocks in a couple of goals, of course.

  20. Aberdeen short of numberspublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Aberdeen v St Mirren (15:00)

Connor McLennan celebrated his 19th birthday yesterday, and Derek McInnes' gift appears to be his first ever start for Aberdeen. He has appeared only once this season, off the bench in the League Cup win over... St Mirren.

Aberdeen have no James Wilson, no Stevie May, and no Niall McGinn in the squad. And Scott McKenna is suspended.

Lewis Ferguson does return to the starting line-up though, and Sam Cosgrove is the third change from the defeat to Celtic.

In St Mirren's only change, new signing Adam Hammill replaces Cammy Smith, who is named among the substitutes.
