I don't know how that has not gone in, Vokes has the whole goal to aim at and somehow it goes straight to the goalkeeper.

I take it everyone else was thinking the same when that ball ran loose outside the Albanian penalty area?

Who's there? Only Chris Gunter! He of 93 caps for Wales without a goal! IS THIS THE MOME- no, it's rolled harmlessly to the keeper.

    Oh well.

It wasn't a third time lucky for Sam Vokes. He gets a close range shot on goal following some good work in the box by Joe Allen, but it's straight at the keeper.

Taulant Xhaka is taking a leaf out of his brother Granit's book with that headbutt on David Brooks.

How the Albanian has only been shown a yellow card is mystifying.

Things are getting a bit heated following Taulant Xhaka's foul on David Brooks.

He's shown a yellow for his troubles.

Half an hour gone and despite having the majority of early possession, Wales have nothing to show for their efforts.

Chris Gunter has still not scored for Wales so when the ball dropped to him 35 yards out, you can understand why there were a few cries of "shoot".

Ever the professional, he just headed it back towards the Albanian penalty area. Spoilsport.

  13. Joe Allen anticipates the dangerpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2018

Joe Allen is so good at anticipating where the ball is going to be and where the danger is. Wales can have these attacking players because Allen is so, so good at what he does.

With such a small crowd here, it's only a few pockets of fans making noise.

In between the bursts of songs from the stands, you can hear the players barking instructions to each other.

When Ethan Ampadu (injured tonight) is back, he's going to love playing with these attacking midfielders. He will love pinging 50-yard balls to them.

Ryan Giggs should be pleased with what he's seen so far, David Brooks and Harry Wilson are looking dangerous on the attack.

A momentous occasion for Chris Gunter this evening as he surpasses Neville Southall's record of 92 caps to become Wales' most capped players, a record which will likely stand for a long time.

But with so many youngsters coming through the Welsh ranks under Ryan Giggs, do any of the new crop have the potential to one day take the record for themselves?

  20. Lawrence making an impressionpublished at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2018

    Albania 0-0 Wales

    Dafydd Pritchard

It's been a promising start to James Lawrence's international career.

We've only played 10 minutes and the Anderlecht defender has already played two defence-splitting passes, one setting Daniel James for a cross and the other teeing up David Brooks for a shot.

Lawrence spent part of his youth career at Ajax, where he modelled his game on Belgium defender Jan Vertonghen, then with the Dutch club. Now at Spurs, Vertonghen would have approved of those two passes.
