    James Chester scored a goal and made a great clearance on his own line for Villa.

    The Man of the Match told Sky Sports:

    "I'm pleased to get a good performance under my belt, but the three points are more important today.

    "We've had some good performances and not had the win so we'll take three points."

    On his first goal since April 10 Jack Grealish told Sky Sports:

    "It’s about time.

    "It’s been around 16 games now and the manager's said I need to get on the scoresheet and get more assists, but the main thing was to get the three points and put in a performance."

    A goal in either half settle this one for the home side.

    Jack Grealish got Villa off to a great start as he scored after four minutes, before James Chester's second-half header sealed it.

    Bolton deserved to at least get a goal - they forced a great goal line clearance from Chester in the first half and had a couple of decent chances, but it;s now just two goals in nine games for Phil Parkinson's side.

    It’s still not exactly party time at Villa Park.

    You’d think this game is now done and dusted after Villa’s second goal, but the home fans have seen enough painful sights here over the years not to go counting too many chickens!

    There remains a quiet, rather nervous buzz around the ground - and the odd anxious gasp whenever Bolton cross the halfway line.

    Maybe the introduction of Yannick Bolasie will liven things up a bit!
